Initiated in 2004, the ‘20 Under 45’ architects
programme by the Urban Redevelopment Authority
(URA) seeks to recognise and celebrate young and
emerging registered architects in Singapore.
When the call for submissions was announced in
October 2024, the age eligibility was increased to
47 considering significant delays in the commencement
and completion of architectural projects due to the
COVID-19 pandemic. In the rigorous evaluation by
a panel made up of public, private and academic
representatives, 23 architects met the selection criteria,
of whom three were above the age of 45.
