Come to Climax: La Petite Mort at Dickens on 💀 Friday 💀 Feb 13th!! Looking4Love is a zine and homage to the personal ads of gay and lesbian magazines and newspapers from the 1970s onward, when such ads became more visible, though earlier coded examples did exist. These ads often offered a sense of anonymity, though some posters also included censored photos. In the spirit of vintage queer media, such as pulp novels, which are a major inspiration for the theme of La Petite Mort, we wanted to celebrate this history and try creating our own personal ads as a method of connection among queer people today. Be as discreet or open as you wish, but remember that these ads will be printed and available for anyone at La Petite Mort to see and potentially take home. A sexy bonus to this activity is the chance to opt-in to go on stage and show off a special talent with Dogiichow! A nod to the Masc Off... Many thanks to the good queers of NYE for cheering for your humble knights, it truly was somewhere after midnight in our wildest fantasy. Special thanks to @spongesuds for working tirelessly as a co-performer and providing armour. While the battle was heavily adapted for this event, there is now an opportunity for all of you to sign up for the real fight with @knight_of_yews and @bighornhistoricalcombat ! 🛡🗡 Bighorn Historical Combat is a HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) club based out of Airdrie & Calgary. Their experienced coaches have a deep passion for swordfighting that translates into phenomenal lessons for every skill level. Both club administration and members are also passionate about tailoring a welcoming space for the queer community. Unlike many sports organisations in the current political climate, Bighorn will stand by trans fighters and actively encourage them to participate. 🏳️‍⚧️💪 Prices vary from $5-$20 per lesson, but beginner days are free!
