Generation Exit stormed Friday the 13th F*ck Cancer Fest at Kick Butt Coffee with street-punk fire and zero mercy. Veteran grit, razor hooks, and that Lifer energy had the floor shaking early. Tight, loud, and locked in for the cause, they turned the two-stage takeover into a full-blown rally cry. Desde Austin-Texas nos llega el primer trabajo de Generation Exit, una banda de streetpunk coreable formada por miembros experimentados de la escena, que han formado parte de grupos como Riddlin' Kids, Sniper 66 o Born to lose. "Lifer"(2024, Ring of fire records) es su primer disco, diez canciones que nos transmiten el espíritu de bandas como Perkele, Rancid, Social Distortion o Cock Sparrer entre otras. Todo ello grabado y producido por Clint Baker e interpretado por Chris Klinck a la voz, Ben Ballard a la guitarra/voz, Dustin Stroud a la guitarra/voz, Clint Baker al bajo/voz y April Schupmann a la batería. Abre fuego "Let's go", un medio tiempo guitarrero de voces ásperas, pero igualmente con mucho protagonismo de las melodías vocales al unísono. Aunque a nivel de sonido y formas es similar, las melodías más desenfadadas de "This city" nos llevan a otra vertiente del punk más liviana e incluso surfera. "Stones & windows" sube varios puntos la velocidad para atacar un himno punk en toda regla, con una producción súper potente en la que destaca el rotundo sonido del bajo y adictivo tratamiento vocal. "Weathered" nos rebaja la intensidad de nuevo, pero esta vez para hacernos mover los pies con un animado desarrollo de regusto rocanrolero. "Wax wings" vuelve a pisar el acelerador a fondo para atacar un corte que nos recuerda a la escuela Bad Religion, sobre todo por los melódicos coros que secundan la cazallera voz de Chris Klinck. Las líneas de guitarra entrecortadas comandan el devenir de "Pull the river", un corte de punk rock más ortodoxo, en concordancia con la línea de Rancid o similares. "One last serenade" aporta el punto necesario de calidez e introspección al disco, pero sin perder la identidad coreable y ese aroma a whisky y barra de bar que nos acompaña durante todo el trayecto. "Lifer" recupera intensidad y poderío, en esta ocasión con un dinámico juego de voces y un acusado punto rockero. "Time" es un himno poguero en toda regla, bronca punk con voces consuetudinarias y unos pasajes de cadencia cuasi procesional. "The barstool" pone fin al disco con un nuevo cántico de directo, que emana hermandad y buen rollo por los cuatro costados. Un buen trabajo

This past Sunday, **Generation Exit** unleashed their signature **street punk fury** across two iconic Austin stages – **Kick Butt Coffee** and **Master Gohring’s Tai Chi & Kung Fu 93** – proving their unstoppable energy is a Dave Fest highlight reel! Both venues delivered the **perfect** raw, charged atmospheres essential for this band’s explosive sound.
At **Kick Butt Coffee**, the intimate chaos was electric. Generation Exit erupted with relentless, high-octane anthems, their razor-sharp melodic hooks slicing through the room. The gritty, up-close vibe was pure punk perfection, the band feeding off the crowd’s surging energy. Then, shifting to the legendary **Master Gohring’s**, they transformed the space into a **punk rock powerhouse**. The slightly larger stage couldn’t contain their dynamism – blistering guitars, thunderous basslines, and powerhouse vocals collided with infectious, driving rhythms that had the entire floor moving. Their performance was a masterclass in authentic street punk: urgent, anthemic, and delivered with unflinching passion and precision.
