at the beginning of this year, my grandma, now 99, asked if i’d do a cover of “deep purple” by april stevens and nino tempo for her. i kept putting it off and getting bummed that i hadn’t put the time into it but put time into other things. i finally worked on it this evening and really fell in love with this song during the process. i also felt very connected with her during the time i spent on it which is what it’s all about. I’ve been having a lot of fun with this app over the last 24 hours. I’m excited to utilize this at a park where I can collect field recordings and mix the samples on the go. Also I found this to be very meditative before slumber. 😴 give the @layers.audio app a try- it’s very user friendly and literally anyone can make something cool out of it. I think it’s only available through Apple for now, but hopefully if it catches on it has the potential to spread on to you weird Android users.
