Great discussions this week with @asmedotorg focused on advancing silicon carbide (SiC) composite technologies for fusion energy systems and broader nuclear applications.
The visit created an opportunity to exchange ideas around the materials innovation needed to support next-generation energy technologies, including tours of General Atomics’ Magnet Technologies Center (MTC) and Engineering & Materials Science (EMS) Laboratory. There, our teams showcased ongoing work exploring how SiC/SiC materials perform under the extreme heat and radiation conditions expected in fusion and advanced reactor environments.
As fusion and advanced nuclear technologies continue to progress, developing engineering standards and design codes for these materials will be critical to enabling their safe and reliable deployment in future energy systems.

At LANPAC 2026, we’re focused on the same operational challenges you are — projecting power across the Indo-Pacific, enabling joint and coalition operations, and maintaining precision effects in contested, GPS-denied environments.
Visit us at booth 200 to see how we’re advancing:
• Extended-range precision fires — Two to three times the range to support distributed operations across island chains.
• Interoperable solutions — seamless integration with existing artillery systems and coalition forces.
• Resilient strike capability — precision against moving targets in denied environments.
• Multi-domain effects — Bullseye™ and hypersonics to hold high-value targets at risk.

The General Atomics Energy group was honored to host Representative Mike Levin at the @d3d.fusion , the largest operating tokamak in North America, operated by GA on behalf of the @energy .
During his visit, Representative Levin saw firsthand the technologies and capabilities helping address key remaining challenges in fusion science and technology, including the fully interactive DIII-D Digital Twin built within @nvidia Omniverse. With its high flexibility and world-class measurement capabilities, the DIII-D team’s impact extends well beyond the San Diego region, informing fusion research and discovery around the world.
To round out the visit, we highlighted our inertial fusion work, showcasing target assemblies and components that demonstrate GA's support of the National Nuclear Security Administration (@nnsanews )’s U.S. national security mission.
Thank you for your support, @repmikelevin ! We look forward to welcoming you back to explore more of our facilities in the future.
