Better late than never? “Good thing time doesn’t exist.” Finally added documentation from 𝕀 𝕔𝕒𝕟 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕒 𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕝𝕖 𝕗𝕦𝕣𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕒𝕙𝕖𝕒𝕕… my spring solo show @nightclub__gallery led by the simply coruscating duo of @_leenoble and @emma.beatrez 🌞 it’s on my internet website if you would like to view images, words, and video in full. Yes there is sound. Just not all the time. Novel! 🌚 Note: Night Club really rocks Minneapolis and could use your support (as artist-run spaces always could). This show, while quiet and meditative in nature, was truly a blast to install and a highlight of my year. Absolutely couldn’t have happened without these guys’ labor and love. Amongst others who watched this shortfilm/longvideo essay in its various drafts of incarnation and gave wonderful feedback (ty @immaculate_constellations @hahaoktattoo @amymariecimini @andreasisson and my brilliant sweetheart with the fine-toothed editor’s comb and no internet presence)—merci for proof that processing the cold dark parts is lifted by the warmth of collectivity.

a summer departs with warmth at last, neon cicada, secret visitors to the tomato garden, monongahela mash, alien craft in plain air, the moon dawns, horse jeep, habitat for humanity and caterpillars, new freedom machine, and a fat stack of tortillas. swooning, swooned, swoont, effervescent with the fading heat waves h/t @jackiethesteele for the godly cream

I will be showing new work at @nightclub__gallery in Minneapolis-St. Paul opening this Friday March 15, thanks to the kind support of the lovely @_leenoble and @emma.beatrez 🖤 “I can see a little further ahead” is a video essay, audio installation, and set of images based on materials I recorded during research in the Alps last year. What results is perhaps a daydream on inbetween-ness, desire to leave one’s body, and the experiences of love, loss, bewilderment, and longing that holds a spirit “in the drift” (thank you @amymariecimini ).

A belated but elated post: am honored to have had a new work commissioned for the @sonicacts Biennial in Amsterdam, now running as part of the Listening Room program at the Spatial Sound platform. This new work, called “The Wall” after Marlen Haushofer’s novel, is composed using flute, breath, synths, and recordings from my recent research into the foehn winds in the Alps. At Sonic Acts, it is presented in 8.2 immersion. Heartfelt thanks to @maudseuntjens for the invitation and support. If you are in Amsterdam, please go and report back! All of the programming looks amazing. Marking 30 years of Sonic Acts, this anniversary edition of the Biennial takes place between 2 February and 24 March 2024 with an immersive ‘festival’ weekend running from 23 to 25 February. Inspired by David Abram’s eponymous book, published in 1996 around the same time as Sonic Acts was founded, The Spell of the Sensuous explores the web of relations experienced through the ‘sensuous body’, evoking our rootedness in the larger ecology of earth beings. Tickets and more: / Spatial Radio for the Listening Rooms Programming: radio.sonicacts.com Commissioned by @sonicacts as Sonic Acts as part of New Perspectives of Action, a project by reimagineeurope, co- funded by the #creativeeuropeprogramme of the European Union.

I have thousands of photos and just as many nicknames. I spent 43% of my life in the companionship of this majestic, angelic, beautiful beast. I spent my actual entire adult life with this wonderful, unconditionally loving, funny little creature. We lived in 8 different places together. She always smelled like Belgian waffles. She was a sweetheart who always wanted to hang out, demanded to be pet, and was profoundly resilient. She was my home. She is uncompromisingly the greatest, longest friend I have ever, ever, ever had. She left on her own terms yesterday morning at nearly 15 years old, her paws in my hands as I helped her through to the other side of home. I whispered memories into her ear of how she’d catch lizards and find the best sunny sleeping spots, and of how much I love her. Friends, to know her was to adore her. My heart is absolutely and completely broken. Treat your feline friends to a Churu in her name, please. May they all live forever.

new sound, images, and work on paper arriving 6pm Friday June 30 @fungusbooks — thee cultural epicenter for freaks in Pittsburgh with reading from ed steck based on a trip taken to point pleasant, west virginia, home of Mothman, occupied Shawnee land, confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers, a ground for early and continuing grounds of the particular American brand of conspiracy and warped story telling. Ed and I have been thinking together about analogues, talking to dreams, the brutal violence of cutting grass, spectral traces, the sound of submerged cars, chaos cells, bridges to localized inter-dimensional entities, electrical crackling, the mangling of information.
