hi everyone! here is our official announcement post for SPOONFEST - a queer and disabled zine fair, for community and by community! if you come, you'll be able to read and purchase the incredible work of over 20 queer / disabled zine-makers. it'll run from 10am to 3pm, on the 22nd of February, and it'll be in the Erskineville Town Hall. this event was conceived and has been planned entirely by trans and autistic people, and we are striving to make this fair as accessible to anyone who might want to be part of the fun! there will be social spaces, quiet spaces, and staff or volunteers to help anyone out. there are accessible toilets available, air-conditioning, and wheelchair accessibility. there'll also be space and materials for you to make your own zines! biggg shout-out to @artismyfavoritecopingmechanism , who is tabling at Spoonfest and made the awesome poster on slide two!!! [you can find image descriptions in the comments!]

hi everyone! we just posted a big announcement last week, but we needed to make a post which Instagram will let us boost. the last post was un-boostable due some obscure Instagram rule. apologies for the repetition! we'd also like to take the opportunity to thank Yellow Ladybugs and MP for Newtown Jenny Leong for supporting our event, providing extra funds and resources! [IMAGE DESCRIPTION -- This image has bold blue text at the top of the poster reading "Genderbility presents... Spoonfest", with light green text underneath reading "Queer and disabled zine fair", highlighted by a light-red star. At the bottom of the poster, a sunflower lanyard design sprawls in different directions, with a card attached taking up most of the space. On the card, white and yellow text reads: "10am - 3pm. Sunday 22nd February. Erskineville Town Hall. 20+ stalls, quiet space, social space, zine-making spaces, zine supplies, and more!". The image has a white background with a trans-flag-esque rainbow in the top left corner. The border is blue, with two stylized pink spoons and a yellow love heart in each corner. In the top-right corner, small black text reads "Event supported by Yellow Ladybugs and MP Jenny Leong!".]

have you ever not been able to attend or enjoy a zine fair/event because of unmet access needs or an uncomfortable environment? Genderbility wants to know how we can make sure our event is an inclusive and accessible space, send your thoughts, suggestions and concerns to us via the spoonfest advisory google form in our bio. ———————————— [ID slide one] all-capitalized bold white text reads: “Genderbility is seeking your advice for our upcoming Queer Disabled zine fair!” the text sits in an odd and irregular blue box with both rounded edges and square corners. the image’s background is pink, with wiggly stripes coloured like the trans pride flag crossing horizontally. there are also blue clover-shaped shapes, with a square hole in the middle, in the background. [ID slide two] white text reads: “Genderbility is looking for members of the Queer and Disabled community to share their input and experiences with attending events. We are looking for suggestions on how to make our upcoming zine fair as accessible and welcoming as we can. Please consider sharing your experiences with us through the google form in our bio!”. the white text is bordered by a thick rounded blue box. The background is once again pink, with trans-flag coloured wiggly stripes going horizontally, and blue clover-shaped shapes with square holes decorating.

hi friends!! our newest zine is right around the corner and we are looking for submissions about your trans and/or autistic experiences with LOVE! our all-knowing and extremely wise team are also looking to answer your questions and give you advice on love, relationships and community! link to submit is in our bio💕💕💕 —————————————————— [ID slide one] bold white text reads: ”tell us about your experiences with love as a transgender Autistic person for our next zine!”. below this, smaller text indicates that the reader should swipe to the next image. this image’s background features many differently shaped and sized love-hearts occupying a space which resembles a pink page in a notebook. [ID slide two] bold white text reads: ”trans and autistic? looking for advice on love, community, or relationships? submit to our advice column for our next zine!”. this text is laid over the same background image as slide one, that being a crowd of love-hearts floating in pink space.
