Design Wanted, one of the most influential design platforms, featured an article on Gencork’s collaboration with creative director le_Brimet for Data Trees Metamorphosis - an immersive installation that merges cork, code, and artificial intelligence to imagine the future of plants. The project was presented at Estufa Fria during the second edition of Future Days. In the world of mathematics and geometry, Delaunay triangulation is a pattern formed by a network of triangles and defined by a set of points. Corkdelaunay 2D reimagines the topographical analysis of a Delaunay 3D surface, translating its intricate structure into an abstract and labyrinthine aesthetic. This generative design captures the essence of order and complexity, balancing mathematical precision with artistic expression. The resulting pattern transforms cork into a dynamic visual experience, evoking the interconnectedness of nature, geometry, and design. Its labyrinth-like quality draws the viewer in, inviting exploration and interaction, while seamlessly adapting to any surface, dimension, or atmosphere. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

Corkmetamorph explores the mathematical and geometric art of M.C. Escher through generative design and parametric systems. It can be described as a visual metamorphosis of lines and hexagons of different sizes, creating a dynamic and progressive pattern in the cork texture. Transitioning from the digital world to a physical shape, this parametric and adaptable pattern can be applied to any wall. More than just offering unique aesthetics, this evolutionary and dynamic cork panel also has exceptional acoustic properties. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

The Corkoptical panel explores visual illusion and the perception of form. Inspired by the optical art of Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley, this captivating pattern creates a striking interplay between 2D and 3D worlds. Through the deformation of a complex geometric grid, it generates new spatial perspectives, challenging the viewer’s sense of depth and movement. By manipulating shapes and contrasts, Corkoptical produces a dynamic, ever-shifting visual experience. The material’s natural texture enhances the illusion, adding depth and warmth to the design. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

GENCORK at Tektónica 2026 In recent years, GENCORK has maintained a strong presence at Tektónica, the leading construction trade fair in the Iberian Peninsula, sharing a stand with Sofalca and Isocor. Over time, we have received several innovation awards and surprised visitors with our regenerative products. This year, at the 28th edition, we will once again be present, focusing on promoting Expanded Black Cork, a unique material, and exploring its multiple possibilities in interior design, architecture, and construction. Come and visit us at Stand 2B16, from 23 to 25 April, at FIL, Lisbon. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

Cork, a natural process. 1 - The extraction process of Expanded Black Cork is entirely natural, as no trees are cut down. The raw material is obtained from cork removed during the pruning of cork oak branches — known as falca. 2 - After extraction, the falca is cut and processed into small cork granules. 3- Once fragmented, the cork granules are heated to around 400°C inside an autoclave. During this process, a natural resin is released, acting as a natural binder. No chemicals or additives are used. The final result is a large solid block measuring approximately 100 x 50 x 50 cm. A 100 % natural process. 4 - The block is then cut into panels measuring 100 x 50 cm, with different thicknesses depending on the intended application, ranging from architecture and construction to interior and product design. 5- After the panels are cut, CNC machining is used to carve 2D and 3D patterns generated through generative algorithms, inspired by geometry and mathematics. 6 - Because they are generative, Gencork patterns adapt to each project without repetition, allowing the creation of continuous and dynamic surfaces that are visually striking, acoustically efficient, and environmentally sustainable. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

Gencork patterns incorporated in The Welcome Building Major 292,000 sq ft headquarters office development in Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone In 2025, Darling Associates developed the design for The Welcome Building, a high-quality multi-tenant office scheme located in Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone. The project contributes to the regeneration of the area and provides new amenity spaces for occupiers and the wider community. Our Corwirls pattern was specified as a key interior element for the main atrium, enhancing the space with a natural and sustainable aesthetic. In addition to their visual qualities, Gencork patterns deliver high thermal and acoustic performance. Their versatility allows seamless integration into a wide range of typologies and applications, from small-scale interiors to large architectural surfaces. _ Project by Darling Associates Photography 01–03 courtesy of Darling Associates Photography 04 by Alex Orrow _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca

Natural Intelligence The concept of Natural Intelligence represents a new way of understanding innovation: an intelligence inspired by nature’s systems, patterns, and regenerative processes. It is a powerful term that connects creativity, sustainability, and technology, showing how these forces can work together rather than separately.  At GENCORK, Natural Intelligence is at the core of its philosophy, redefining the creative potential of cork. Using 100% natural and sustainable expanded black cork, the brand respects the material’s organic identity while exploring new possibilities through contemporary design. Instead of forcing artificial solutions, GENCORK allows nature to guide form, texture, and sensory experience.  Technology plays a key role in amplifying this process. Through computational algorithms, regenerative design, and artificial intelligence, GENCORK transforms cork into unexpected shapes and immersive environments. This approach strengthens cork’s acoustic and thermal performance while elevating it into an artistic and architectural language.  By merging natural materials with advanced digital manufacturing, GENCORK demonstrates how Natural Intelligence can shape a more sustainable future, where technology enhances nature, creativity becomes more meaningful, and design creates emotional and sensory connections. _ #Gencork #Regenerativecork #Naturalintelligence #Sofalca
