Excited to share that our Dingshu Vocational School of Pottery is part of Regenerations: China and Spain in the Mirror, now on view at La Casa de la Arquitectura, Madrid.
Curated by Li Xiangning and Manuel Blanco (
@mblage ), the exhibition brings together more than seventy projects from both countries to explore how architecture can regenerate social and urban fabrics by engaging with inherited contexts and cultural continuity.
During the opening symposium, Fan Beilei, principal architect of genarchitects, joined Panel 3 — Caring for Heritage and Its Environment alongside Tang Shuoning, Han Dongqing, Zhu Pei, Fuensanta Nieto (
@fuensanta_nieto ) and Alberto Campo Baeza (
@acampobaeza ), discussing how architecture can extend tradition through contemporary design rather than replicate the past.
Located in Yixing, the birthplace of the purple clay teapot (Zisha teapot), Dingshu Vocational School of Pottery is one of the few rural educational institutions in China dedicated to ceramic craftsmanship. The campus is organized as a series of small workshop-like buildings connected by a shared central plaza, creating a learning environment rooted in local making culture and community life.
Warm thanks to the curators and to
@casadelaarquitectura for bringing together such meaningful dialogue between China and Spain.
