12 Days of Lumos Christmas - A partridge in a pear tree 🎄🎄🎄
Holiday season is upon us and so to get us into the full Christmas swing, we’ve come up with a Tom’s Studio creative challenge! We’ve asked 12 superbly talented, creative heroes to come up with a creative response to the classic Yuletide tune ‘12 days of Christmas’ using our highly popular and infinitely refillable Lumos pen.
To kick us off with our 12 days of Lumos Christmas we’ve enlisted the creative mastery of my lovely wife, Gemma to bring you a Partridge in a Pear Tree. In this design Gemma uses the Lumos delicately to create a beautifully detailed Christmas wreath, complete with Calligraphy lettering using the Bloom.

These little puddings arrived 13 weeks ago (not the big pudding in a middle 😄) ! Being a mum of twins is full on I'm not going to lie, but it's the most magical feeling in the world to be blessed with two little humans no matter how hard it may be. Me, their daddy and big sister are beyond grateful to have them join our family after a very long, rocky road 💖

Dear Wren,
Today should have been the day you were born. We should have been welcoming you into the soft Autumn sunshine after so many tough years of wanting and waiting for you to arrive. We should have been taking you home from hospital, not going to buy a tree to plant so we can always remember your brief time with us on this earth. But we will still do this so that I, your daddy and your big sister can feel like you're always close.
Your brief life though has been such a blessing in so many ways. You taught me that my body can grow another baby, even though you couldn't stay. Without you I would not have known that I had the strength to weather the the toughest of storms, and remain standing. You've taught me to hold your big sister even closer than before and make sure she knows every single day that she, and you, are the very core of my world. You've taught me to always show up and be the best possible mother I can be, and never to take my children for granted.
Your Mami put it beautifully when she wrote these words for you back in the Spring when we had to let you go:
"As you now fly to a place beyond where I can see, take my love and gratitude for the gift of your short life with you. Sing your song and fly high and free"
Wren, I miss you and all that could have been every single minute of every single day, but I am so proud to have carried you and that you chose me to be your Mummy. Sleep tight little one xxx

This week sees my parents head off to walk the Pilgrims Way, all 141 miles of it, and which starts in Winchester, Hampshire and ends in Canterbury, Kent. They are walking in memory of our son, Wren, who we lost in March this year. All money they raise will be donated to @arcantenatal
so that they can continue to do their amazing work and help families like ours.

My excellent husband @tomsstudio sent me these surprise flowers in the post last week and it really cheered me up after a pretty tough few months . I had to do a double take when I realised they are exquisitely crafted out of PAPER!! They are seriously so, so beautiful and I can't believe they are handmade ! It's incredibly satisfying to see a material that would otherwise go to waste being re-made into something beautiful and functional, that will last a lifetime !
Handmade Artist's Ceramics Giveaway! 🖌️
To celebrate the imminent launch in of these beautiful ceramics, @tomsstudio is giving away a set of artist's ceramics in conjunction with watercolour artist extraordinare @dewintonpaperco
Each piece is designed by Tom and handmade by @wendytournay using the same slip casting technique as famous British ceramicists such as Wedgewood and Denby.
Each piece has a signature 24ct gold drip/ speckle decoration. This is a nod to the Japanese philosophy of "Wabi-Sabi " (the beauty of things; imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete) and serves as a reminder to celebrate all the mistakes, inky splots and splashes that are an inevitable part of developing as an artist.
The jug also has a simple thumb impression, which allows it to be used as a brush rest too! The palette is pure minimalism with simple undulations for mixing colours that are reminiscent of ripples in water.
One lucky winner will receive both a handmade Artist's Water Jug and Palette.
