We carried out a meaningful collaboration with @westwing and @victoriaarduinoofficial
It was also a great opportunity to introduce Gemi Roasters to more people.
Roasting day means fresh batches are on the way. Once packed, they’ll be ready to go home with you — as always, available at the café or via our online shop. 😉
[BEHIND THE BEANS]
This is Johannes. Johannes tried to quit coffee. But after many failed attempts, he decided to accept his fate and quit quitting it…
With nearly two years of roasting experience and a big bucket of knowledge about specialty coffee, Johannes is the other half of the craft behind GEMI. Quiet, focused, and incredibly precise.
You’ll probably catch him at the café even on his days off, chatting about coffee over a fresh pour-over. We guess that when you know beans, you just know where to get the good stuff. ;)
[BEHIND THE BEANS]
You probably already know him, but let’s make it official.
Meet Ann, our head roaster, and the guy who started it all. With years of experience in gastronomy and specialty coffee, he’s the driving force behind Gemi Roasters. Ann’s favorite brew? Always filter.
Fun fact, he’ll look away in silent judgement if you add oat milk and cinnamon to your V60. 🙂↕️
What does “Gemi” mean? It’s a question we get often, and one we always enjoy answering.
Gemi takes its name from the Korean word 개미 (gaemi), meaning ant. Sounds cute, but we mean business 😎 — just like ants do: they work hard, move together, and carry far more than they should.
From a humble green bean to something greater in your cup. Small, but never insignificant.
Also, have you ever noticed how a trail of ants kinda looks like coffee grounds? 😛
We said we’ve been thinking about how we show up. So here we are: a little more dressed, a little more ourselves. These are some early glimpses of where we’re headed. One cup, one cap, one tee at a time—soon enough. ;)
Which one would you grab?

Hi there! After a short quiet time of prepping, we’re excited to finally share a new visual for Gemi Roasters — a wordmark to join our existing logo, the one that some of you (or maybe all of you? 🙈) are already familiar with.
It’s a small update, but one that matters to us. We’ve been thinking a lot about how we show up — not just in your cup, but in the way we speak, look, and feel. This new look is part of building a more consistent identity for Gemi: one that’s as intentional as we are about our beans.
We’ve still got a long way to go. But for now, we want to say thank you for being here. Friends, followers, customers, you’re a part of this.
So stay tuned. :)
Wishing you a lovely weekend, Your GEMI Team
