Well, it finally happened. I had my first ever drag performance. it was at the final
@wiw_openstage held
@genosrockclub_official . I still can't believe I did it. The experience was like nothing else I have ever done. The coordinators were amazing
@the_gigi_gabor . The fellow performers were so nice in the green room and made me feel calm and confident.
I have some people to thank/possibly blame for this future egotistical monster that has just been created. First, I want to thank
@keviin.zig and
@codyleesutton , who run
@queersandbeersme I would never have gotten to know the portland queer community so well with out them. I want to thank my best friend
@ladylondonberry for introducing me to them in the first place and my friend
@huntressvanburen for always encouraging my absolutely bonkers ideas and shenanigans
I also want to thank my two drag aunties and local legends
@thecharmoney and
@mamamartini_ , who both encouraged me to try work it Wednesday and were always there when I had questions about drag and how to get started.
I also want to thank all my family and friends who have been supportive on my journey, in particular my mom
@bubbie_mainex3 . over the years, she has been there for me anytime I want to pursue a new hobby or passion. she may not always understand it, but she always supports me.
Look forward to seeing a new face in the Maine drag community. Now that I have had a taste of the spotlight, I don't intend to stop anytime soon. However, if it is a school night that still complicates things. lol
