As part of a larger project I've been spending lots of time with my head in old journals. This was a fun entry from a holiday last year with 3 of my dearest friends which I have embellished to the nines because I was very hungover when I first wrote it. I'm having fun editing the handwritten entries, I used to feel quite precious about keeping things as close to 'Truth' as possible, and editing felt like a compromise on this. But I've realised I write in my journal like I'm taking minutes, knowing that somewhere along the line this will be reinterpreted, used as ingredients for something more delicious.
Love my friends and the sea so much!
My copy of Death, Heaven and the Victorians next to a journal I kept when I was 13-15, with a Stone Roses lyric written on the edge of the pages. Theyāve been neighbours in this box of teenage angst for years but I only saw this today. #heaven
Iām slowly updating my website with some bits from my studio archive. Thereās lots of work that doesnāt get air time but has been instrumental in the development of my practice. Iām trying this out as a way of consolidating and seeing the spirit that sometimes makes it feel like one big body of work, despite them all being made at different points in my life. Big day for the hoarder
