From the GEM Talks archive, Beyond the Screen: From Idea to Impact, award-winning director Omar Hilal shared the story behind his upcoming film His Weakest Creatures (Ad3af Khal2o). What started as a simple moment online evolved into a powerful narrative shaped by his deep connection to animals and a desire to question how we perceive and treat them.
Through his process, Hilal highlighted how storytelling can push audiences to look beyond what’s familiar, opening up conversations around empathy, responsibility, and overlooked social issues.

Empower Her Art Forum (EHAF), organized by @artoday_official , returns to the Grand Egyptian Museum for its fourth edition, bringing together over 200 female artists from more than 30 countries under the theme “Empowerment Through Art.”
From May 2 to 5, the forum transforms the museum into a global platform for artistic dialogue, cultural exchange, and creative expression. This year’s program features international exhibitions, live art, workshops, and panel discussions exploring the role of art in driving social impact and amplifying women’s voices.
The edition also pays tribute to pioneering Egyptian artist Gazbia Sirry, alongside immersive experiences that blend art with technology and digital media.
By hosting EHAF once again, the Grand Egyptian Museum continues to support global cultural exchange and celebrate the power of women’s creativity.
يعود ملتقى التمكين بالفن (EHAF)، الذي تنظمه «أرتوداي»، إلى المتحف المصري الكبير في دورته الرابعة، بمشاركة أكثر من 200 فنانة من أكثر من 30 دولة حول العالم، تحت شعار «التمكين بالفن».
من 2 إلى 5 مايو، يتحول المتحف إلى منصة عالمية للحوار الفني والتبادل الثقافي والتعبير الإبداعي. ويشمل برنامج هذا العام معارض دولية، وفنوناً حية، وورش عمل، وجلسات نقاش تستكشف دور الفن في دعم التمكين وإحداث تأثير مجتمعي وتعزيز صوت المرأة.
وتحتفي هذه الدورة بالفنانة المصرية الراحلة جاذبية سري، ضيفة شرف الملتقى، إلى جانب تجارب فنية غامرة تمزج بين الفن والتكنولوجيا والوسائط الرقمية.
ومن خلال استضافة هذا الملتقى مجدداً، يواصل المتحف المصري الكبير دعم الحوار الثقافي العالمي والاحتفاء بقوة الإبداع النسائي.
Can personal stories reshape how women define success?
During our latest GEM Talk, Women Redefining Success, @nouremam , Co-founder of @daleela.app , shared how her own postpartum experience led her to rethink women’s health and turn personal challenges into purposeful action.
Through her work, she highlighted the importance of body literacy and access to information, showing how awareness can empower women to make informed choices about their health and lives.
By opening up conversations around topics often left unspoken, Emam demonstrated that redefining success can begin with understanding oneself and creating space for change.
