CALE PLETT is a nonbinary, genderfluid writer who lives on Treaty One Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their YA novels span everything from high school rock bands to nightmares in the woods to reality TV gone wrong, and their poetry and short fiction can be found in a whole variety of journals. Whatever genre they’re writing, they try to create spaces where queer characters can exist safely within their identities. Wavelength, a runaway pop star YA romance, is their debut novel from Groundwood Books. Their second YA novel, The Saw Mouth, is coming out May 12, 2026 from Delacorte Press, to be followed by another standalone YA horror novel, Stranglehold, in fall 2027. @Michelekiricha1 had an opportunity to interview Cale, which you can read on the Geeks OUT blog - link in bio!

Dawn Chen is a sapphic fantasy and horror author who grew up in Beijing, China. When she was thirteen, she moved to Germany to live with her family. Since then, she has both lived in Canada and UK. She writes in both Chinese and English, wishing nothing more than to keep writing, and has a perfectly healthy obsession with ghosts. She's the author of the Chinese queer diaspora horror short story collection Dawn's Cozy Horror Corner, the Chinese-inspired anti-British colonial sapphic fantasy The Witch Who Chases the Sun and the upcoming sapphic vampire epistolary horror novel A Vampire in Beijing. @Michelekiricha1 had the opportunity to interview Dawn, which you can read on the Geeks OUT blog - link in bio!

ZARA MARIELLE hails from two worlds: a Northern California hippy town and a rustic village high in the French Alps. A former ESL teacher, she loves to travel and has also lived in six different countries. Zara earned a master’s in creative writing from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. When she isn’t writing contemporary fantasy, she spends her time inventing much sillier, spontaneous content as an improv teacher and performer. @Michelekiricha1 had the opportunity to interview Zara, which you can read on the Geeks OUT blog - link in bio!
