@izakayatoyo has been grilling tuna barehanded in his street stall since 1992 — plunging his fist into a bucket of ice water while torching to offset the searing heat. Crazy.
But it’s not just a spectacle, the food is amazing. Everything I ordered was great, but the grilled maguro cheek was the standout. Perfectly charred on the outside and still raw and juicy inside.
There’s a long line to eat here because he grills the tuna in batches with breaks between. It’s worth the wait.
