Happy Women’s Month ✨ Yesterday marked the official day for International Women's Day, but with so many posts flooding the feed, I didn’t want to just drop a graphic and say “Happy IWD.” I wanted to take a moment to actually put my gratitude into words for the incredible women in my life. Here's me saying a huge thank you to: 1️⃣ The women clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my 25+ year career — the ones who respect my time, value my expertise, and pay fairly and promptly. 2️⃣ The women followers who go beyond the “like” and take a moment to leave a comment and truly engage with my posts. That support means more than you know. 3️⃣ The women I call friends, family, and colleagues — the ones who call (or who answer when I call!) to bounce ideas off of or simply talk about the day. Sometimes a text just isn’t enough. 4️⃣ The women who show up and network. Choosing yourselves, making the time to get out socially and professionally, and investing in your growth. I love connecting with each of you. 5️⃣ The women who support other women — sharing opportunities, making introductions, celebrating wins, and lifting each other up along the way. Last Sunday #selfcare day started with an exclusive invite from @kevinyurealestateteam for a spa treatment at @oaknail.to - much needed after March Break Madness. I hadn’t been around the @oakwoodvillagebia in a while, so I took my time through and checking out a few spots. @thewildbluebakery had a huge crinkle cookies and a flaky strawberry pop tart I had to try. @nicaromacafe got my curiosity piqued with their giant tamales - now thinking of Trini pastelles #iykyk❤️ @nonnalia_desserts is such a beautiful space - found them on @toogoodtogo.can and thought why not be surprised with the tiramisu flavours. @cafebelem.to had a great pastry selection and of course I picked the kouign-amann. Didn't last to take pic because my daughter devoured it. This area brings back memories - my family lived here over 35 years ago. Lots of gems here, I'll definitely be back. When the @restaurantscanada #RCShow rolls into town, it usually signals the kickoff of tradeshow season—filled with conferences, industry-only events and public shows. While a few happen earlier in the winter, March events often offer a glimpse of what’s ahead for the year. I’ve been going to @homeshowsto for years, and it’s always an incredible one-stop destination for all things home—suppliers, décor, equipment, services, products… and of course, food! The show runs for more than a week, but this time I only managed about an hour and a half. Take it from me—set aside at least a full day, because there’s so much to explore and plenty of experts to learn from. Discovering new products is always exciting, but reconnecting with familiar faces or stumbling upon vendors you haven’t seen in years is just as rewarding. Day 3 @restaurantscanada #rcshow was Tuesday. The tradeshow industry is A LOT of hard work. The hours of pre-prep are endless, the days on-site back-breaking and when the time arrives, in 1/5 (exaggeration intended) a vendor would have dismantled and is ready to go home. BUT what you don't see is the HIGH that an exhibitor feels from making those connections, following up, absorbing first-hand feedback...it's priceless. Thanks to all the showcasing exhibitors who came out to inspire and inform the restaurant industry.
