There’s something powerful about seeing community, creativity, culture, and purpose all exist in the same space. PARAISO: Heaven and Earth was one of those experiences.
Presented by Graceful Essence and Gavino Production, the experience featured the unveiling of Sherwin Darrel’s Ethereal Collection alongside immersive performances including opera, ballet, live musicians, powerhouse vocalists, and artistic storytelling moved throughout the night.
What made the evening even more meaningful was its support of The Ryan Chisim Charity and ongoing DIPG research at SickKids Hospital, reminding everyone in the room that events rooted in compassion and community can leave a lasting impact far beyond the stage.

It is my greatest honour to be the creative director and featured designer of the very first Paraíso event on 2026. In this event, I unveiled my latest collection—Ethereal, which matches the theme of the show.
This event not only showcase my love for fashion but also my advocacy of increasing global usage of the MORO tapestry to generate more livelihood for our Filipino community in Davao, Philippines.
By collaborating with Paraíso, we also raised funds for Ryan Chisim Charity, which directs funds to the research of DIPG in SickKids hospital.
I am truly blessed to be celebrated by my close companions @cynthiagracemiranda and @lyrajadegavino in this partnership, and to be supported by the whole Production, Glam, Media, Performers and Model teams.
Special thanks to these two opera singers—Taras Hlova and @mira_solovianenko —for making my vision come to reality.

Paraiso: Heaven and Earth Fashion Show Blends Culture, Purpose, and Couture in Toronto
Toronto, ON - April 18, 2026
An evening of fashion, philanthropy, and cultural storytelling unfolded at St. Paul’s Bloor Street as Paraiso: Heaven and Earth brought together designers, performers, and changemakers for a cause-driven runway experience. Produced and financed by Cynthia Miranda and Lyra Gavino, and conceptualized by Sherwin Darrel, the event went beyond a traditional fashion show. It offered a multi-sensory journey-merging opera, ballet, and high fashion-Inspired by Ryan’s Story and supporting DIP Research at SickKids.
The evening opened with a live music lounge before transitioning into three thematic acts—Earth, Paradise, and Heaven—each reflecting different dimensions of human experience and aspiration. Taras Hlova sings a soulful Nella Fantasia as Alena Loboda gracefully showcase her masterful ballet skills. An encore that Bayanihan guests are craving for was brought to life at Paraiso.
