There are some projects that feel like work and then there are projects that feel like home. 💙
Working with
@uniofleicester on the 2121: Foundations for the Future long form film has genuinely been one of those “pinch me” moments.
I have always had a huge amount of love and respect for Leicester. The city, the people, the energy, the heritage. From the very first conversation we had with
@cinnamonsteve the mastermind behind the whole thing, we knew this film had to feel Leicester, not just be filmed there.
From the earliest planning sessions with
@sophiecalverley , through to scribbling out storyboards, through to recces walking the streets, buildings and spaces, every step was about authenticity. About making something that future students, staff, alumni and the city itself could feel proud of. The kind of film that does not just tell a story, it belongs to the place it was made.
And then the cast and contributors. Honestly, surreal. Look over on
@weareclearhead for a full list but thanks to
@jemkartodp @jordanadcock_ @meameli @deniz.mxf @ksummedia @redroadproductions for bringing our vision to life.
Working with Richard Armitage, yes Hobbit fame, was incredible.
Such professionalism, generosity and craft. And having Serge (
@the_s.l.p ) from
@kasabianofficial involved brought such a brilliant, grounded Leicester energy to the project.
One of my absolute highlights was meeting Serge’s mum and dad at the premiere. Moments like that remind you why storytelling matters. It connects people, families, communities.
I feel unbelievably lucky that we get to do this work at
@weareclearhead , and even luckier to do it alongside brilliant humans like
@alexlawrencefilm amongst many many other crew. Co-directing was an absolute dream.
The amount of care, craft and heart that went into this project from everyone involved is something I will never forget. Check it out here /1162615218?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci
