One week of MAPS DON’T WORK HERE.
I moved to New York a little over a year ago carrying a lot of new stories. This project is what happened when those stories finally found the right rooms, the right people, and the right silence to land in.
Want to take a moment to thank the ones who helped me bring it to life.
@burgchar has been the loudest believer from day one. So many mornings that turned into afternoon coffees, hangs that turned into sessions, and songs that never once felt forced. Charlie hears what a song needs sometimes before it even knows itself. Every instrument we laid down felt natural. Effortless in the best way. Thanks a million my brother.
@iznburns and I closed down the local wine bar a few times. He stepped into a handful of sessions and instantly lifted the vibe in the room. Playing and an energy you can’t teach. Your positivity sticks with people my man.
@jessehoule_ and I kept randomly crossing paths all last year. Right before I left for the summer we said, let’s get one in. One session and no overthinking. Heat Wave was born that day with Jesse and Charlie. We set out to see if we could finish something in an hour and ended up catching lightning. When you take pressure out of the room, talent gets louder and you can feel that freedom all through this EP.
Grateful is an understatement.

This is my first project in a few years and I’m honestly so grateful to still be on the creative path after all the highs and lows. It hasn’t been linear, but it’s been real. Thanks for being here ♥️

I recorded this song so many times I almost gave up on it. Love playing it live, but for a long time I couldn’t capture that feeling in a recording. It’s one of my favorite songs to perform because of the dynamics and how it breathes. Over the last year this song had many helping hands shaping it, but it came out exactly how it was meant to. I’m grateful to everyone who stuck through it. Especially grateful for @burgchar continuing to bless me and these songs with his abilities ! I hope y’all enjoy.
