Last Wednesday, students Elijah and Sieanna attended a sewing workshop at Gather Here to further explore their interest in fashion and design. As part of his capstone project, Elijah is designing a bag, making the workshop a fabulous opportunity to strengthen his creative and technical skills.
Thank you to Isabelle and Lisa for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and craft with our students.

Thrilled to share this fit! From @merchantandmills âs newest book #mmworkwear - @vee.bee.jay spent the last couple of weeks stitching the Chore Jacket (oilcloth), Shirt (linen), and Drawstring Trousers (Brussels Washer). @christopher_steele stitched the Kit Bag (linen/cotton blend). Monochromatic fits are đ„ and blending these different textures makes our heart sing. Copies of the Merchant and Mills WORKWEAR book wonât hit our shelves until the end of May (per the US distributor) but it will be here soon! What will you make? (Thanks to Izzy for prepping the Kit Bag and @char__dave for cutting out the Chore Coat which was pristine and then Vee mangled it during construction adding to its âworkwearâ appeal.) #GatherHereCambridge #MakeWhatYouWantToWear #WeAreWhatWeMake #ThePerfectForagingDateFit

Happy International Quilt Day to all that celebrate. Here are some of our favorite quilts we have had the honor of displaying in #GatherHereCambridge. Made by team members, CMQG members, and local artists. Note many are political because everything is political. Even the ones you think arenât probably are because creating these quilts with our hands when there are forces constantly demanding our attention and our energy is a decision about the type of world we want to live in. The final photo is a quilt made by an 11 year old in one of our summer camps. These camps are made available to folks through the generous fundraising efforts of the @cambridgemodernquiltguild . Again, prioritizing art and craft. Pay people to teach. Providing space to create. #WeAreWhatWeMake #HappyInternationalQuiltDay
Hey, so thereâs a lot of snowmageddon chatter on the airwaves and the City of Cambridge announced it will be closed on Monday, 2/23/26 (like nothing but snow removal is gonna happen) and the Governor declared a State of Emergency so we decided best to be closed, too. Thanks to everyone who came by and wished us a happy 15th birthday over the weekend. We are extending the sale for one more day since weâll be losing revenue due to the impending snow. Hope yâall stay safe and warm. Ciara and Lisa will be online during the day answering emails⊠Vee will be prepping class launch which will happen on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Regardless of the weather. #SnowSnowSnow #MakeSomething #GatherHereCambridge
Happy 15th Birthday, #GatherHereCambridge ! We would not be who we are today without the team effort of the folks that make up Team GH. From senior team members like Kendra, Charlotte, Greeley, and Molly to our most recent colleagues, Sophie, Rebekah, and Mike. Part-time team members make it possible for us to stay open 7 days a week: Keiko, Bella, Rebekah, Harriette, and Shing. And our new Assistant Managers, Kaia and Christopher mean no one works everyday of the week. Plus studio monitors and instructors, Kai, Izzy, Lisa G and Lisa P, Sophia, Laura, and Charles. The machine technicians, Meghan and Alvaro. Guest instructors, Candice and Eling. Inventory team Kayleigh and Maya. Our behind the scenes team Ciara and Caitlin. Our founders: Virginia and Noah. And of course, our employee of the year (for two years in a row): Theodore. #ShopSmall #SupportSmallBusiness #WeAreWhatWeMake
