A few weeks ago, my therapist popped the question: “Do you have any hobbies?” “I guess... improv?” I replied. “What about something that doesn’t make you money?” *Silence.* That was me BEFORE my new obsession with 3D printing. I felt like sharing something joyful today, because we need more reminders to find a hobby. To do things out of pure joy. The world needs to see more of that. “Normal” doesn’t always mean healthy. Burnout? Normal. Sunday scaries? Normal. Meetings about meetings? NORMAL. But just because we’ve accepted it... doesn’t mean it’s okay. The plan was to celebrate May the Forth Star Wars Day at the Air & Space Museum. Little did I know it was going to be a surprise “Gary appreciation Day event” that included inviting Courtney and Garrett to come along. 🥹 We started with a May the 4th scavenger hunt, and ended with our community creating pilot call signs, belly laughs, and having some of the most honest conversations about making the world of work a better place. The new community members walked out feeling like they belonged. That’s the Culture First principle of “Connection Inside, Business Outside” in real life. I love our growing community and excited for what’s to come.
