On Sunday my family lost the most amazing angel on earth. My Beautiful, Sweet, Kind, Fiercely loving Grandmother Colleen Halstead. Any one who ever had the privledge of meeting her would say that you can’t leave her without becoming her newest friend. She loved everyone as if they were family.
I have learnt most of my favorite lessons that I use in life and try to bring into this world are from her and the love and lessons she passed on to my beautiful mother and her children
That I would like to also pass along to you.
1. It takes nothing to be Kind.
2. Manners cost nothing,, but if you don’t have them everyone notices.
3. Love with your whole chest.
4. To thine own self be true
5. Eat dessert FIRST
6. Love Conquers all ( Amor vincit Omnia)
And so many more…
I am going to miss the way you believed you spoke French fluently ( she didn’t speak a lick of it Only Je t’aime), and your sweet handholds where we would just sit and be together. I’m going to miss the way that you would light up every time someone came over, I’m gonna miss our chocolate milkshake dates, singing out to Celtic music( she was a proud Irish woman), 3 oclock tea time watching coronation street, but most of all I’m going to miss your hugs and they way they always made me feel, you may have been a little thing, but when those arms were wrapped around me, I felt safe like nothing in this world could ever hurt your little guy.
This post could go on forever, but I am glad you are safe with Grandpa again, I know he has missed you.
My two favorite angels.
As you would always say when you were leaving I LOVE YOU AND NEVER FORGET IT. And Grandma I NEVER COULD
