I put 160 miles on the Lavender Lady today. The @tacomoto.co GET ECU improved MPGs from 29 to 35. I can't believe what a difference it made and that I settled for poor performance over the last 2 years... . Same trails I've been running the last 2 months.... Huge gains. This could also be because I've off gassed 27 pounds of fat the last 3 months. Either way, I'm stoked. Kind of boring riding solo but not many of my riding buddies want to hit this kind of mileage. See you in June @bigbear_trailriders
FFS! @tacomoto.co I just rode it for the first time. Just around the corner into the industrial area. Was thinking why is it pulling so hard? What's wrong. Then I remembered the ECU! Wow. Can't wait to hit the trails this weekend.
For the more observant viewers, yes, that Giant Loop Zig Zag bag has no straps. I came up with a super clean way to use it on the @fasstcompany Flexx Bars with no straps and the Hondo Garage/WLF phone mount 🤌🤌
LET'S RIP!
I'm not a pro photographer but I had to do something to highlight the amazing work @mainlinedesign.co did with this graphics kit for the 2 year refresh of my FE501. I had an orange plaid 300 10 years ago and was looking to do an updated version so I sent Mainline an old pic of the orange one and a pic of a flannel I have.... He killed it. Lots of new protective parts, @dubyausa wheels, a Tacomoto GET ECU and some love from @tbtracing in my quest for lots of big mile rides.
Time to get it dirty.
150 miles of Big Bear in perfect weather today. Bike is dialed. Also, I've entered my aging enduro dude in transitions wrap arounds phase. Goggles are wack most of the time. And further, don't park behind vans or trucks when there is plenty of parking. People are fucking stupid.
Another 110+ mile day prepping for the BB Run. All the classics. Trying to keep average speed up over many hours. I never claimed to be a fast guy and Im slower than I was 8 years ago but I've always been able to keep going. Tortoise and the Hare type shit. 8 years ago I was at 23 mph moving average. I'm currently at 20 with 3 months to go.
I did a 100 mile loop of all the "hard" trails in Big Bear yeaterday... Dishpan. Redonda. White. Bull. Gold. Holcomb Creek. Dishpan. This was taken at the end of the ride and is the only pic I took all day. 6 hours in the saddle witha 20 minute lunch and fuel break. It's been 8 years since I did the Big Bear Trail Riders "Big Bear Run". The trails are harder and I'm 8 years older so I'm putting in the work for the next couple months to take the edge off completing the 220 miles and getting a plaque. If anyone wants to get in on these pre-rides let me know. They will ramp up in distance as we get closer.
More from day 1 of @bigbear_trailriders 2026 Bartsow to Ridgecrest. Our 3 man crew rode the entire track. Not too many bikes rode this section! 🫠🙌 Thanks to @onxoffroad for keeping us on track and @tarakadak for the sick routes.
