Happy to share a couple clips from my string quartet “Cracks in the Sky” played so wonderfully and passionately by @garrison_quartet at @arlingtonarts a couple of weeks ago—it’s and incredible privilege to work with friends who are such amazing and dedicated musicians.
In the months that followed the sudden death of his sister Fanny in 1847, Felix Mendelssohn’s music took on a new depth of darkness and urgency. Most poignantly in works like his final string quartet, where despair and raw emotional mourned his profound loss.
A huge thanks to Carson, Chris, Tyler, Sachin (@garrison_quartet ) for their beautiful playing on "Sounds and Sweet Airs" my work for string quartet. They were so in tune with my vision of the piece that it's almost impossible to choose what to share here--but here are a few favorite moments.
