For last week’s @slowdowncinemaclub screening of Parasite, Gino did a rendition of one of our mouldings with a handmade arrow going straight through it on @black__aphelion ‘s poster 🏹 Thought not all pictured, he also included 4 frame charms that go along with each family member from the film ( one is hanging from the arrow). Slowdown has a packed lineup for this coming summer with Season 1 of Twin Peaks next up - hoping for some fun frame charms on that one 🤞Keep it up Gino!

Art Center turned 50 recently and know one even noticed. One of the few places left@on the planet where it’s cheaper and easier to shop in-person than online. It’s my happy place and I pray it’s around for another 50.

Good close ups of what Gino put together for @slowdowncinemaclub ‘s past screening of Back to the Future! This frame is a take on our Retro Deco finish collection, with electric striping and clock hours to match @gfx_by_natalie ‘s print. There’s even a pair of clock hands behind the print also set at 7:53 ⏰And don’t forget the hover board frame charm 🏂
It’s always so fun to see what @felinefreckles comes up with. Slow Down’s next screening of Parasite is March 25th and I’m sure he’s already got something cooking up - stay tuned !
Another artist spotlight ! We had @hillarybutlerfineart come in before the new year so we could donate some framing! She brought in an edition of her poster for the 2025 River Arts Fest and we framed it up in an orange @bellamoulding acrylic frame. Looks like candy! 🍊🍬
Hillary has gone from English teacher to graphic designer to full time artist and it is always a delight to have her (or her work) in the shop! Whether it’s abstracts, electric botanicals, or a whole lot of flamingos , Hillary’s work is a treat to pull frames for. She has a link to a podcast episode on her website that goes in depth on her career journey - give it a listen!

@slowdowncinemaclub is back for 2026 so that means @felinefreckles is back to his grind ! Last night they screened Her (2013) and Gino was able to bring along the framed @mrdrewryan poster. Experimenting with some new additions , he actually embedded a magnet in the frame to hold a little frame charm. You might be seeing more of these charms with the next editions of Slowdown posters ! ❤️ 🫀

Our artist spotlight series is back! If you don't remember - this series follows along as we invite local/regional artists to bring in an original work that we donate custom framing for. This is our thank you to the artists that drive our business!
Back before the new year, we had David Rawlinson @davidrawlinsonartist come in with one of his original watercolors. David actually worked here at Garner's from around 1968 to 1971, during which he met and worked alongside his now wife of 50 years (give or take , he can fact check that!). You can see Chris, Matt, and him reminiscing over our composite of every Garner employee there at the end.
A Memphis College of Art alum, David lead a long-lasting career as a graphic designer, eventually stepping away and picking up watercolor. He has a short documentary style video on his website that describes his relationship to his work far better than I could. He is included in the @memphis_germantown_art_league juried exhibition which is on view now through February at St. George's.

Things get a little crazy for us around the end of the year, so we're looking back at some projects we wrapped up around the holidays - like this custom antiqued mirror for @karenseeliginteriors ! An elongated arch on our Gothic moulding with medium distressing. Looks beautiful in the space!
