No shade on the photographers, but doesn’t it strike you as a bit off-key that the people who take pictures of graffiti have more chance of showing their work in an art gallery than the actual graffiti artists themselves? It’s something that occurred to me as I was writing an essay about the relationship between modern art and graffiti by way of Marcel Duchamp and why I believe he should be considered the patron saint of graffiti. You might think it’s a load of toilet, literally and metaphorically, but I’ve just posted the essay on my Substack - link in bio. Meanwhile, why not spread the love and drop in the comments any instagram pages of the graffiti writers you rate and think we should be checking out too. Also, there’s a huge Duchamp exhibition at @themuseumofmodernart (which I’ll hopefully get to see before it closes in August). Anyone seen it?

📀💿 We are delighted to invite you to Resonant Matter, a new exhibition at London College of Fashion curated and produced by CfFC Interim Director Caroline Stevenson, Luke Turk (@luketurk ) and Asha Hall-Jones, and featuring Diego Benalcazar and Rachael Finney (@crisapsoundarts ), The Deosil and Widdershin Soundsystem, Jason Jules (@garmsville ) Sir Collins Archive (@archiveshackney , and Tim and Barry TV (@timandbarry ). 💿📀 🔈Resonant Matter explores the spaces and scenes through which sound, fashion and collective cultures take shape across London. Through archival storytelling and immersive installations, the exhibition traces underground networks - from pirate radio stations and street protest to sound system cultures and club nights - where aesthetic codes are shared, adapted and performed, producing distinct forms of style, music and cultural expression. By tuning in to these practices, the exhibition considers how sound and fashion move together, shaping identities, solidarities and moments of collective resonance across the city.🔈 🔈Resonant Matter forms part of The Music is Black Festival, an East Bank–wide programme celebrating @vam_east inaugural exhibition The Music is Black: A British Story.🔈 💥Please join us on April 30th 5-8pm for a female-fronted pop, rock & disco DJ set with Seena Shamsavari @thatsparrowboy , celebrating iconic Black divas at East Bank, and make a zine with Eva Dieteren, imagining what the future will sound like. 💥 📷: @j.m.psd 2-D Design: @sebkoseda

Here’s me being filmed by the super-talented Kadi wearing my new @belstaff jacket. It was one of those early Spring days when the weather is just too nice for you to be in a bad mood for long, which was just as well because on my way to the shoot I sat on my phone and broke the screen. Couldn’t turn it on after that. Once I’d dropped it off at a nearby repair shop, I quickly got used to the idea of spending the best part of a day without a phone. To be honest it was great. I’d decided to bring this book along to the shoot, as a kind of prop, but ended up spending the rest of the day just hanging out, taking in the rays and reading. Written by Patricia Bosworth, it’s the story of iconic method actor Montgomery Clift. I’ve read it many times before over the years, but this time was different, it was like reuniting with an old friend after spending years apart. The jacket is part of Belstaff’s Spring 2026 collection. To me it’s design classic. Called the Eiger Smock, it’s perfect for this kind of weather and beautifully unpredictable days such as this one. We’re proud to introduce our first collaboration with Jason Jules of Garmsville and Black Ivy, a London-based creative whose work explores the intersection of menswear, culture, and lived history. This project began with a vintage pair of boots from Jason’s own archive. Rather than loosely reinterpret the idea, we worked directly from that reference, refining proportion, adjusting line, and preserving the integrity that made the original compelling. The result is a Navvy Boot™ with a brogue upper: rooted in tradition, shaped with intention. Offered in two leathers; Parisian Brown Calf and Peanut Calf Suede. Available now at viberg.com, vibergnyc.com & Viberg Flagship New York. #VIBERG #VibergBoot #MadeInCanada #NavvyBoot #Garmsville

What do René Magritte, Arlo Guthrie and Alfred Hitchcock all have to do with the @ralphlauren show that happened in Milan last month? You’ll find the answers, among other things, in my latest Substack column. The link’s in my bio. Check it out, let me know what you think.

Black Ivy isn’t a trend….it’s a lineage. Before “heritage” was a hashtag, it was a standard. Clothes worn with intention, education, and restraint… Black Ivy refers to the way black students, thinkers, and professionals adopted & reshaped classic Ivy style as a form of self definition and resistance. This isn’t nostalgia. It’s lineage, yadig In honor of Black History Month… #blackivy #southernamericana #vintage #blackhistorymonth #vintageclothing

All of a sudden I’m looking forward to winter because I get to wear this @bigrockcandymountaineering parka. It has all the details you’d hope a great duck down parka would have - super warm, deep pockets, rib-knit cuffs, chunky zip, drawstring waist and hood - and it’s incredibly light. What I also love is that its relaxed fit makes it great for layering. One word of warning though, if you’re not comfortable discussing clothes with complete strangers, avoid this coat. It literally is an icebreaker. I can’t tell you the number times someone has come up to me checking out this parka. I can’t blame them - I’m sure I’d do the same if I saw it for the first time. Kudos to @bigrockcandymountaineering for coming up with their own version of a mid-century modern classic. 📸 @nicholasvisuals 📸 !!!
