We got a chance to get out and do some tabling at Garfield High School to engage with the students about the changes and to see if they had any questions about what is going on with construction! CONGRATULATIONS JESSE JOSHUA WATSON! Finalist for GSB’s Explanatory Mural Call Jesse will create a mural design for the new comfort station that is part map, part history, and part art, engaging viewers in a journey of discovery. The design will be translated into a durable permanent material to be attached to the new comfort station on the Garfield Super Block.

The Garfield Super Block will proudly participate in Seattle’s 43rd Annual MLK Jr. Celebration! Stop by our booth before the march and check out the park plans! We will be there from 9-12am am the march will start at 12:30pm. This year’s theme, “Where do we go from here?”, invites our community to reflect, organize, and act together toward justice and belonging. Created by Selma Dillon of Garfield High School’s Art Class, the 2026 poster reminds us that our future is shaped by collective action, imagination, and commitment to equity. Save the date: Monday, January 19, 2026 Garfield High School: 400 23rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98122 The day will feature an Opportunity Fair, community workshops, a rally, and a march-bringing together organizers, families, youth, and advocates working toward equity and belonging.
