New Combat Action Teenz page. Link in bio. This one has the most words of any of them so far. I'm still trying to figure out some sort of style and I'm editing the script here and there as I go. The whole thing is very in flux but I think the fact I'm wrestling with it is a good thing? I have a massive anxiety over the "Flash" line but it's still the program I feel most comfortable in. So I rough out a page with 2b, 4b pencils and calligraphy pens. Take a picture of that (I don't have a scanner!) and bring it into Flash where I make the lines over the roughs. The previous page was done with a slanted brush that had low smoothing. This one was done with a line tool but converting them to fills and tweaking points to make them a little more handdrawn looking. Not sure if it worked but it was faster and less frustrating. I love messiness usually but with the C.A.T I like it to be a little neater. I think it's a hangover from when I was a teenager and getting really annoyed I couldn't make super clean lines like in the comics. I still can't but I just let the computer do it. Next, I bring the line into Photoshop and start throwing down colour. I feel like a real amateur with the colour and don't like thinking about it too much. I did a lot of birthday cards on autopilot over the years so I just follow whatever rules I made up there. White highlights, shadows underneath. Just get it done! I'm trying to do right by the writing not the art. Whatever level of "good" that allows me to sleep at night. I've been bad for not keeping track of brush settings and I don't think I've done any page the same way. The main thing is to just find some sort of style that's fast and doesn't make me want to REDACTED myself. I'm worried that each page will look different from each other and detract from it feeling part of the same thing... but also trying to embrace that as part of the project. Maybe it's OK if everything is a little bit manic because that says something about me as well.

Page 05 up. There's Substack where there's a bunch of background and trivia like on IMDB. There's also the version on my comic site so you can just read the page with the other pages. LINKS IN BIOx Can anyone give me lessons on how to avoid getting little pixels on everything? Is it having elements too close together? Is it something to do with colours I'm using? DPI in the PSD? I dunno man. It's dogged me forever making things look polished. Maybe all these sites just compress the shite out of it. I don't know.

Page 3 of Combat Action Teenz up on Substack. Link in bio. Can't believe I only just now thought to release a Saturday morning cartoon comic on an actual Saturday morning.

New page of COMBAT ACTION TEENZ on the Substack. Link in bio. Is a supervillain Luchador problematic even if it's spoofing the lazy stereotypes of Saturday morning cartoons and I go onto address it in future pages? Please say no.

Combat Action Teenz. An elite team of teen adventurers fighting evil-doers and dealing with day-to-day admin. I wrote a pilot script that I got fed up of looking at so now I'm turning it into a comic. Check out the full first page on my Substack (link in bio) along with the perhaps ill advised regaling about the origin of these characters. When I have more than one page uploaded I'll try and find a better place to put the whole thing so it's easier to read.
