Hi All, This is my first real time using the @ganttools collapsable trail tool with the medium sized shaping head, and geez it’s great light weight but strong, it cuts through roots and grasses with ease. It’s also great for cutting in and shaping berms and rollers without the fatigue of a heavy hardwood handle. 💯 recommend 😀

Our rigorous testing of the @ganttools collapsible trail tool continued at today’s HORCC working bee. A Mammoth day of track maintenance today. Thanks to Chum, Dave E, Adrian V, Rachel and Spoona, Huw, Jarrod, Kalea and Ciaran. Special thanks to the local kids that asked if we were getting paid and offered to swap bikes for tools when we said we were volunteers. Extra special thanks to Dave Mac who saved the day with the ride on lawn mower, cleaning up the grass up top. Work will resume at 8am, Sun 15 March. If you’d like to help out, just turn up and say hi.

Spent some time smashing, raking, prying and packing with this @ganttools collapsing trail building tool and I’m really impressed. Putting it together is really easy, like screw together with my gloves on. The joints are really strong as well. They have some tech inside that when the handle is put together it feels like it’s a normal one piece handle and no vibrations up the shaft when you smash into rocks. I mean there’s more rock in the Gladstone dirt than dirt so you know I felt it. The strength in the blade is super strong. My old tools feel like they are going to bend when prying rocks out and one tool actually did. Thank you Rob for letting me try this one out. I can’t wait to see the finished version when it’s ready!!! Hit up their website to see their full range!!! @flylowgear @pitviper_au @braking_bicycle @shimanoaustralia @leattmtb_aus @raceface @marzocchi_mtb @masterfitinc @tokowaxandcare @radixnutrition @singletrailracks #sharinthestoke #MountainBiking #builtlocal #mountainlife #trailbuilding

Yesterday, some HORCC members MCTA and other volunteers attended the first MTB trail maintenance day, hosted by NPWS in the Royal National Park. This also commenced the official testing of the collapsible trail tool by @ganttools HORCC will be providing feedback on the tool. However, initial thoughts are that this is compact, easy to assemble, has a damp feel when tamping and would be very ergonomic for carrying in long distances. It fits comfortably in a backpack with room to spare for food and water.
