I remember thinking, over thinking, reading, visualizing and even dreamt about taking a picture of a Great Horned Owl. After weeks of hearing their calls, finally last Saturday I was able to spot the owl and capture this picture close to sunset.

We got there early,before the crowds, before the gates, before the rush. Just rows of tulips stretching across the square, untouched and waiting.

Then the city showed up.
• A massive crowd lined up, kids and adults equally excited
• Creators and influencers everywhere, cameras out
• The energy kept building every single minute

And here’s the crazy part…
🌷First person in line: 5 AM
🌷Gates opened: 1 PM
Eight hours of waiting to get the free 8 buds!.

Art that lasts only a few hours. 🌊
A couple of weeks ago, Ocean Beach turned into an open canvas as artists created designs right along the shoreline. Intricate designs carved straight into the sand, knowing that the tide would eventually come back and erase it all.
That’s part of the beauty of it. The art is temporary, but the creativity, the effort, and the moment stay with you.
With the Pacific waves rolling in and the Golden Gate fog escaping, it felt like one of those uniquely San Francisco experiences where nature and creativity meet for a brief moment.

Fireworks over Chinatown to close out the Chinese New Year Parade.
Just when the parade energy started settling down, the sky lit up again. The sound of firecrackers and fireworks echoing through the streets of Chinatown felt like the perfect finale to a night filled with lion dances, drums, glowing floats, and thousands of people celebrating together.
Fireworks during Lunar New Year aren’t just for show. Traditionally, they’re meant to drive away bad spirits and welcome good fortune for the year ahead.
San Francisco really knows how to celebrate.

For few hours, the streets of city turned into a river of color, rhythm, and celebration. Lion dancers weaving through the crowds, drums and fireworks echoing between the buildings, and glowing floats lighting up the evening. It’s one of those moments where you can truly feel the energy of the city.

The San Francisco @chineseparade is also one of the largest Lunar New Year celebrations outside of Asia, a tradition that dates back to the 1800s.

Went out early to capture the lunar eclipse.
Felt ready, until I realized
- I left my memory card at home.
- Tripod wouldn’t tighten.
- Hands freezing.
- Frustration building.
Thanks to @lveer.kumarl , @punksworld , and @ksprasath for stepping in right when I needed it. Spare card, calm guidance, problem solved just as the moon turned that deep red.

Here’s the twist, Extra cards. Gloves. Everything was there in my bag, I let small hiccups cloud my head and almost missed the bigger moment.

Spent the next hour just quietly watching the eclipse, grateful for clear skies and good friends.

I took a quiet drive toward Devil’s Gulch Road, just past Lumpy Ridge, when I felt it… that feeling of being watched.

Locked eyes with a bull elk standing still. Massive. Calm. Completely unbothered.

We stared at each other for a moment that felt longer than it probably was. Then, without rush, Elk crossed the road and disappeared to the other side like he owned it.
