Candela will share her experience of the full journey, from the myth of “building communities” to what it really takes to start from nothing. She’ll talk about the invisible work no one talks about and the gap between expectations and reality. She’ll explore what happens when creators become partners rather than just numbers, and why finding the right fit matters more than reach. Finally, she’ll address what happens when communities shrink and the real human impact remains. Behind every community are people, stories, and connections that go far beyond the hype.

Last week we enjoyed an inspiring Girls’ Day at Gameforge 💜
We started the day with an introduction to Gameforge and then the games industry by our VP Products, giving the girls a first glimpse into how diverse and exciting this world can be.
After getting to know our apprenticeship program, meeting our amazing apprentices, and taking part in a fun quiz on topics like diversity in the gaming industry, it was time to get hands-on 👩💻
In the morning, the young ladies built their own computers 🛠️
In the afternoon, they stepped into coding, programming with Calliope and even creating their own small mobile robots 🤖
A big shoutout to our apprentices who organized and led the sessions - you made this day truly special!
We’re proud to support young girls in exploring tech careers and discovering new possibilities

From apprentice to developer 🎓➡️💻
We’re celebrating a special milestone at Gameforge: our very first apprentice has officially graduated, and is now part of our dev team full-time!
Back in 2023, we launched our apprenticeship program because we believe that even as the games industry goes through significant change, building sustainable, local talent pipelines is essential. Today, it’s all about hands-on learning, real responsibility, and long-term career opportunities.
And we’re especially proud that 50% of our apprentices are women
This is just the beginning, and we’re committed to growing the next generation of game developers!

Training without borders 🌍
At Gameforge, we value giving our apprentices the chance to gain international experience.
That is why we are part of an exchange program with Finland.
Elias is currently spending six weeks with us. In September, Niklas, our apprentice in system administration, will travel to Finland.
