What would Pasadena be without the architecture of Greene and Greene? Charles and Henry Greene's contributions to Craftsman design gave Pasadena an architectural identity in the early 20th century. Their creative process, along with the great variety of Pasadena neighborhoods, will be on full display throughout this ride, as we see over fifteen houses located in several clusters from Summit Ave. to Oak Knoll. The ride starts and ends at the Gamble House (1908), the Greenes' masterwork that's open to the public. The Gamble House's curator will provide expert commentary throughout the tour.
Ride distance will be approximately 11 miles with multiple stops, including 2 parks with restrooms. Riding pace will be casual, and route is primarily flat with a few gradual inclines and downslopes and a short uphill segment at the end.
Note: There is one big downhill segment. Be sure your brakes are in good working condition.
