Sunshine for our workshop last week Drawing Spring Flowers with Bamboo + Ink! The green bamboo pens glided amazingly smoothly thanks to @cathybirdartstudio - producing some lovely veiny furry and sinuous marks!

An amazing collection of Otherwordly Vessels by Elizabeth Fritsch at Hepworth Wakefield which I caught last week. Hadn,t realised she trained as a harpist but didn,t persue a muscial career due to stage fright and started making coil pots at her kitchen table. Influenced by Piero della Francesca and fresco painting, the stunning geommetry, created space, celestial colours and clarity of execution are testament to that! Plus the chalky surface from the coloured slips she applies. Lots of other influences obvs. Some strange shapes, loved the little tombs and idea of a lachrymatory for collecting tears!
Also Axel Salto,s erupting forms (last pic) curated by @edmunddewaal which I think he described as wanting to escape their bondage.
and a beautiful museum over the river Calder.
