Spring is here — and so is a new "Picture This." ✨
We've styled five works into real interiors to show how the right piece can bring that fresh, seasonal feeling indoors.
Each featured work is framed around atmosphere and emotion first, with practical styling context woven in naturally. Overall, it reads as aspirational but approachable, the kind of content that makes you want to refresh your space without feeling pressured to.

Calleri's work lives at the intersection of the classic and the romantic, palettes and mood working together to draw out something sophisticated, and emotional. Through years of exploring the figure and representational painting, he discovered that by introducing slight distortions to the human form, the image finds its own direction. He follows where it leads.

"Wesley" by Kollabs, the collaborative project between Luis Garcia-Nerey and Anke Schofield, greets you at the entrance to Gallery MAR. Their compositions place wildlife within domestic environments, building open-ended narratives that invite the viewer to draw their own conclusions.
Beneath it sits "Antlers in Turquoise with Metallic Tips" by Jared and Nicole Davis, a mouth-blown glass sculpture that catches and holds the light. Developed with Jared Davis' signature Fission technique: layered color, crackle process, and a finish that is as geological as it is luminous. No two pieces are alike.
Together, these works do what the best pairings do, they create a moment. Bold image above, luminous object below. One asks a question, the other radiates quiet.
This is what intentional collecting feels like in a home. The focus is not to fill a wall or a surface, but to build an environment that has layers, that shifts with the light, that gives you something new every time you walk past it. Art that works together creates rooms that feel considered and alive.

Shawna Moore is best known for her encaustic work, but her distinct fluid style doesn't belong to any single medium. "Blue Study" and "Red Study" are proof of that. Built with acrylic paint, each piece uses contrast and layered color to conjure movement, the kind that recalls water shifting beneath light.
Both works arrive framed intentionally: light wood, wide white matting that becomes part of the composition itself. The generous mat draws you in, slows you down, and invites you to get close enough to find your own meaning in the movement.

Kenneth Peloke has spent his career chasing something hard to pin down: the feeling of the American West.
There's a reason non-representational figurative work resonates so deeply in a home. When a face is abstracted, the figure becomes universal, it stops being someone specific and starts being anyone. Including you. The emotion lives in the gesture, the color, the weight of the composition, and the viewer brings the rest.
Peloke works in two distinct styles, hyperrealistic wildlife and a more abstract, graphic approach reminiscent of silkscreen. This piece "Lone Rider" lives in that second world, where the icon of the cowboy is distilled to its essence. He paints with oils, Q-tips, paper towels, drywall scrapers -- whatever the work demands.

America Martin’s work makes you feel that. She describes herself as a “painting anthropologist,” beginning each piece with bold blocks of color, then drawing back in with white line to recapture the idea, building layers that reveal how the work came to be.
The result is something primal and tender at once. “Mother & Child with Yellow Towel” holds that quality, rendered in quiet yellow and blue tones with the confident line of an artist who understands the human form deeply.
There are so many ways to be a mom. Sending a Happy Mother’s Day to every art-loving mamacita out there. 🤍

Hunt Slonem has long been drawn to historic figures, icons whose energy transcends their era. Queen Elizabeth II is one of his muses, painted repeatedly for her historical significance and what Slonem calls her mastery of time. In his hands, she becomes something more than portraiture.
Inspired by Warhol’s serial repetition, Slonem transforms his subjects — bunnies, birds, queens — into cultural symbols through accumulation. Rendered in thick, gestural oil on wood, “HRH” carries all of Slonem’s signature qualities, bold color, atmospheric light built through cross-hatching.
“HRH” by Hunt Slonem is available now Gallery MAR. Visit us and experience the unique texture of this piece in person.

James Wolanin's work lives somewhere between then and now, vintage in feeling, graphic in execution, and entirely his own.
Pulling from old magazines, photographs, and childhood memories, he builds digital collages first, assembling references and ideas until the composition clicks. That digital foundation then informs the painted work, where his background in graphic design shapes his unique style and preferences
His choice of acrylic is deliberate. Where oil paint pulls toward richness and depth, acrylic offers flatness — and for James Wolanin, that flatness is the point. It's the quality that ties his paintings back to the graphic world he came from, and what gives his dreamscapes their distinct, unmistakable edge.

We just got back from a studio tour of Michael Kessler’s space, and the gallery has fresh work today. Built from dozens of translucent layers of acrylic, his abstractions live between the organic and the painterly. Biomorphic and geometric forms that suggest branches or sticks rising through a landscape, yet remain elegantly abstract.
There’s something otherworldly about his works, as if you’re glimpsing into a world that doesn’t quite exist, with a landscape you’ve seen before.

Jane Maxwell works exclusively with found materials. Utilizing vintage scraps, paper billboards pulled off walls in Prague, boxes of Parisian papers sent by friends abroad, she layers them into large-scale collages that feel timeless and alive.
Her work began as a frustration with fashion’s unrealistic standards, deconstructing idealized female figures. Over time, that critique gave way to celebration. She came to see fashion as a vehicle for individuality and power, and her figures evolved with her, off the runway and into motion, fully in their strength.
Maxwell is not currently making new artwork, and with only four pieces remaining in our collection now is the time to add your own piece to your home.

The shape of a canvas is part of the composition itself and circular canvases naturally draw the eye inward, creating a sense of intimacy and focus that a traditional rectangle simply can't replicate. Sitting somewhere between art and object, they fit especially well with other shapes on a gallery wall, and on their own, they make a statement. Don't be afraid to go round!

This time we wandered off Main Street, but stayed close to home, to visit our friends at Re Park City, our town’s only consignment store that doubles as so much more. Beyond its incredible archive of designer pieces, Re PC is a true third space where women come together, connect, and build community.
Expect bright, bold colors and patterns displayed alongside tried-and-true staples like Levi’s jeans, vintage fur coats, and iconic designer bags. If you love being surrounded by beautiful things (something tells us you do), this local gem is for you.
Re Park City is also a feel-good solution to overconsumption, whether you’re shopping or consigning, you’re putting money back into our community and keeping great pieces out of the landfill. Stop by and give yourself an afternoon to browse. You won’t regret it.
