“ANTIHERO” is an exhibition that quietly explores the blurred boundary between good and evil. By turning its gaze toward the subtle sense of unease that lingers within everyday life, and the feelings that, through repetition, gradually begin to escape our notice, the exhibition invites us to reconsider the sensitivity we may have lost over time. Through the fragile figures of children that appear in the works, “ANTIHERO” offers a moment to reflect on what we are still capable of feeling today
現在開催中の個展「ANTIHERO」は、ソウルを拠点に活動する韓国人アーティスト、テズ・キム(Tez Kim)は、自身の幼少期の記憶を出発点とし、その不確かな性質を受け入れながら、初期体験に残された感情の痕跡を再構築する作品を制作しています。
彼の作品に見られる鮮やかな色彩や、記憶を想起させる粒子状の質感は、それが過去の再解釈によるものなのか、あるいは時間を超えて保存された強度なのかを曖昧に保ちながら描かれています。そこに立ち現れるのは、特定の出来事や転機を指し示すものではなく、言葉では定義しきれない断片的な情景です。
それらは、かつて何気ない出来事に強い感情や高揚を見出していた時間へと私たちを引き戻し、それぞれの心の内側にある記憶と感覚を静かに呼び起こします。

On view through this Saturday, April 25th, ANTIHERO marks the first solo exhibition in Japan by Seoul-based Korean artist Tez Kim. The artworks, largely informed by childhood, embrace the inherently selective and often unreliable nature of memory. In this Kim seeks to reimagine the emotional residue of early experiences. It remains ambiguous whether the saturated colors and grainy, memory-like atmosphere reflect this retrospective reinterpretation or a heightened intensity preserved over time. What ultimately emerges is a vignette that is unclear, pointing to neither a specific event nor a moment of transformation. Instead, his work invites viewers to recall a time when seemingly insignificant details held profound emotional weight and excitement.

この世界に必要なのは、
完璧なスーパーヒーローではないと、私は思っています。
もちろん、もしスーパーヒーローが本当にいたら素敵です。
でも、それは現実的ではありません。
善と悪の境界線はいつも曖昧です。
私がアンチヒーローを好きなのは、
彼らのほうがより人間らしいからです。
そして私は、彼らのような人たちの中に、
この世界への希望を見ています。

「自分は善い人間だ」と言える感覚を、
大人になった今も持ち続けたい。
私が呼び起こしたいのは、
そういう感覚です。

What we need in this world,
Of course it would be nice, if superheroes were real
But they’re not realistic.
The line between good and evil is unclear.
I like antiheroes because they are more human,
And I see hope for this world
In people like them.
Despite the scars that come with living a life
And the inherent injustices in the world
People who affirm goodness
and the people who still recognize
the value of innocence and sympathy
and strive for justice.
I think we need those people in this world
to persevere all the while bearing the scars.
I think we should strive to be those people.
I think it’s an important message,
both personally and as an artist.
I want to be able to tell,
that I am a good person
Like I was able to when I was a child.
I want to have that clarity now, as an adult.

現在開催中の個展「ANTIHERO」は、ソウルを拠点に活動する韓国人アーティスト、テズ・キム(Tez Kim)による日本初個展となります。
テズ・キムは、弘益大学およびロードアイランド・スクール・オブ・デザイン（RISD）で学び、これまでに国際的なアートフェア、パブリックインスタレーションなどを通じて作品を発表してきました。
彼は、自身の幼少期の記憶を出発点とし、その不確かな性質を受け入れながら、初期体験に残された感情の痕跡を再構築する作品を制作しています。

Kim received his education at Hongik University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and has since presented his work through exhibitions, international art fairs, and public installations. GALLERY ETHERでは、2026年4月4日（土）から4月25日（土）の期間にて、ソウルを拠点に活動する韓国人アーティスト、テズ・キム（Tez Kim @tez_theboy ）による日本初個展「ANTIHERO」を開催いたします。
本展は、私たちが普段、無意識のうちに受け入れてきた「善」と「悪」という構造そのものに、静かに問いを投げかける試みです。ここで描かれる「悪」は、明確な輪郭を持つものとして表現されるのではなく、むしろ日常のなかに反復されることで徐々に感覚を鈍らせていく、曖昧で捉えがたい存在として提示されています。
善悪の境界が次第に曖昧になるなかで、私たちは知らぬ間に感受性を失い、繊細な善性や無垢さ、誠実さを感じ取る力を弱めていきます。本展は、そうした感覚の鈍化を丁寧に削ぎ落とすように構成された作品群によって、長らく見過ごされてきた私たちの感受性を呼び覚ますきっかけとなるでしょう。
作品に登場する子どもたちは、英雄的でも完成された存在ではありません。不安定で、脆く、確固たる意志を持たない存在として描かれています。しかし、その未完成な状態のなかにこそ、静かな抵抗の可能性が宿っています。「ANTIHERO」では、過度な主張や挑発に頼ることなく、「私たちはどれほど鈍感になってしまったのか、そしていまなお何を感じ取ることができるのか」と私たちに問いかけます。
会期初日の17:00〜20:00に、作家在廊によるオープニングレセプションを開催予定です。

GALLERY ETHER is jubilant in announcing “ANTIHERO”, the Japan-debut solo-exhibition of Seoul-based Korean artist Tez Kim (b.1977), to be held from Saturday, April 4th through Saturday, April 25th! An opening reception with the artist in attendance, will be held on Saturday, April 4th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
With “ANTIHERO” Kim challenges the familiar structure of good and evil that is often accepted without question. Evil no longer appears as a clearly defined force; instead, it quietly repeats within our daily lives, dulling our sensitivity over time. As distinctions between right and wrong blur, this numbness spreads unnoticed, weakening our ability to perceive subtle forms of goodness, innocence, and sincerity.
This exhibition unfolds as a deliberate sequence of works that gently scrape away this
desensitization, attempting to reawaken a sensitivity we have long neglected. The
children depicted in the paintings are neither heroic nor complete—they are fragile,
uncertain, and without absolute conviction. Yet it is precisely in this imperfect state that
a quiet form of resistance emerges. “ANTI HERO” does not rely on overt provocation
but asks with restraint and simplicity: how numb have we become, and what are we still
capable of feeling?

Italian artist Sabina Feroci’s solo-exhibition “The Body Knows Everything” is now in its final week. This exhibition features a wide range of works centered on sculpture, alongside painting, collage, and more, this is a great opportunity to experience the breadth of Feroci’s practice.

イタリア・フィレンツェ出身のアーティスト、サビーナ・フェローチは、絵画、コラージュ、彫刻、ジュエリーデザイン、バスレリーフ、イラストレーションなど、多様な技法を横断しながら制作を行っています。芸術性と高度なクラフトマンシップが共存する表現で知られ、その作品はヨーロッパおよびアジア各地の現代アートギャラリーで発表されるなど、国際的な広がりのなかで評価を築いてきました。

Italian artist Sabina Feroci was born in Florence. Specializing in a range of techniques, like painting, collage, sculpture, jewelry design, bas-relief, and illustration. Sabina is renowned for her work because of its exceptional fusion of artistry and skill. Her work has been displayed at modern art galleries throughout Europe and Asia, which is evidence of her influence and impact on a global scale.
“The Body Knows Everything,” which is currently on view, will run until this Saturday.

「私は長年にわたり、“母—娘／娘—母”という関係性をめぐるリサーチを続けてきました。その関係は、過去から未来へと果てしなく広がっていくものです。この作品の中心にあるのは、家族の中で女性の世代を結びつける、目に見えないけれど確かに存在し続ける連鎖への思索です。母から娘へと受け継がれていく、感情的で象徴的な“母性の遺産”とは何かを問い続けています。
私はこのつながりを、かすかでありながら決して断ち切ることのできない“細く赤い線”として表現します。紙に刻まれた痕跡を、何度も、何度も繰り返し彫り込むこと。それは時間の経過を刻印するかのように、私たち以前の世代の重みと存在を可視化していきます。その線は重ねられるたびに溝は深まり、線は生きた記憶となり、過去の母たちは死によって消えるのではなく、娘の経験の内部に生き続け、母から娘へ、女から女へと受け継がれる祖先的な知恵として息づいていきます。
2024年、私はアン・セクストン（Anne Sexton, 1928–1974）の詩、とりわけ『The Double Image』に出会いました。それは私にとって啓示的な出会いでした。そこに、私のリサーチの核——同時に“娘”であり“母”でもあることの、胸を引き裂くほどの複雑さ——を見出したのです。母と娘の間に映り合う視線のなかに、私は自分の感情や恐れ、そして深い連続性と責任の感覚を見出したのです。

life, another image to remind me.
And this was my worst guilt; you could not cure
nor soothe it. I made you find me.
母になるということは、この連鎖の中へ主体的に入っていくことです。受け継ぐ者となり、痕跡を残す者となること。そしてまさにその“継承”の内側に、あらゆる家族の核となる秘密が隠されています——何が、どのように、伝えられていくのか。私のプロジェクトを導くのはこの問いなのです。断ち切れない糸を探し求め、それが物語となり、記憶となり、アイデンティティとなっていく、そのプロセスを追い続けています。」
