Picnic in the Park
Juliana Lupacchino and Allison Hall Phillips
It’s as evident as an exhale- the buds on the trees come from nowhere, the azaleas burst from the smallest bush, the birds present a louder chorus at daybreak… spring is here in Savannah, Georgia!
No matter how many years are under one’s belt, folks are again reminded that there is indeed life after the gray cloud of southern winter. Spring will always come, and we forget too easily that we will laugh in the sun again.
This series, a collaboration between two friends (and local Savannah artists), Juliana Luppachino and Allison Hall Phillips, encompasses the nostalgic, sunny, relief of that initial walk through the parks of Savannah at the turn of the season. It’s a simple, forgotten joy to catch glimpses of strangers enjoying the first gorgeous day of the year. The park is sprinkled with picnic blankets, beach chairs, sandwiches and wine… all laced with sounds of thankful chatter and easy music.
This series of work expresses these seasonal comforts in the form of nostalgic quilt patterns, hopeful colors, and playful scenes of food and nature. Take a seat with a friend and join our picnic in the park.
We will be open on St Patrick’s Day on Parade Route. When the parade comes to the front door we close to regroup until parade ends then reopen until 8pm on Tuesday March 17, 2026 🍀
