EXHIBITION 앵무새는 인간의 말을 따라 하는 존재지만, 그 안에는 각자의 방식으로 드러나는 고유한 목소리가 있습니다. 이 작업은 반복되는 일상 속에서 형성되는 나의 모습을 떠올리며 시작되었습니다. 같은 하루처럼 보이지만, 그 안에는 조금씩 다른 감정과 선택이 쌓여 있습니다. 짧은 선을 하나씩 쌓아 화면을 만들어가듯, 그 반복 속에서 미세한 차이와 나만의 리듬이 드러납니다. 작품 속 새장은 누군가에게는 제한된 공간이지만, 또 다른 누군가에게는 스스로를 지키는 자리이기도 합니다. 이 작업이 각자의 시선 속에서 자신의 모습과 감각을 떠올릴 수 있는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다. Parrots are known for mimicking human speech, yet within them exists a unique voice expressed in their own way. This work began from reflecting on the self that is shaped within the repetition of everyday life. Although each day may seem the same, it is made up of subtly different emotions and choices. Just as the surface is built by layering short lines one by one, these repetitions reveal slight differences and a personal rhythm. The cage in the work does not hold a single meaning—it may be a space of limitation for some, while for others it becomes a place of protection. 🙏 『2026 잠비아 생태마을 후원 특별기획전 참여 작가 공모』 안녕하세요, 갤러리발트입니다. 오는 7/6일부터 8/2일 4주간 잠비아 생태마을 후원을 위한 특별 기획전을 개최합니다. 본 전시는 예술을 통해 지속가능한 미래를 이야기하고, 관람객과 함께 나눔의 가치를 실천하고자 기획되었습니다. 출품된 작품의 수익금은 잠비아 고아원에 각종 학용품과 생필품 마련 위해 기증됩니다. 2026년 7월 개최 예정인 『2026 잠비아 생태마을 후원 특별기획전』 에 참여할 작가님 10분을 공모합니다. 갤러리 발트는 수년간 예술을 통해 잠비아 생태마을 후원을 기획하고 있습니다. 지속가능성, 생태, 공동체, 나눔 등 전시의 취지에 공감하는 작가 여러분의 많은 관심과 지원을 기다립니다. Call for Artists: 2026 Zambia Eco-Village Charity Special Exhibition Hello, this is Gallery Wald. We are pleased to announce a special four-week exhibition from July 6th to August 2nd to support the Zambia Eco-Village. This exhibition is designed to discuss a sustainable future through art and to practice the value of sharing together with our visitors. A portion of the proceeds from the artworks sold will be donated to provide school supplies and daily necessities for orphanages in Zambia. We are currently looking for 10 artists to participate in the 『2026 Zambia Eco-Village Charity Special Exhibition』 scheduled for July 2026. Gallery Wald has been organizing projects to support the Zambia Eco-Village through art for several years. Parrots are known for mimicking human speech, yet each one reveals its own distinct voice in the process. This exhibition focuses on the individuality that emerges within repetitive daily routines and structured systems, highlighting the subtle differences that shape each person’s presence. Although each day may appear the same, different emotions and choices quietly accumulate within it. The artist builds her compositions through the repeated layering of short lines, reflecting the passage of time and revealing unique rhythms and variations that arise through repetition. In the works, the birdcage can be interpreted both as a confined space and as a place of self-protection. Depending on the viewer’s perspective, it can carry entirely different meanings. This exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the sensibilities and differences each individual holds, even within familiar structures and routines. @yayoseoul EXHIBITION YAYO의 작업은 삶의 흐름 속에서 끊임없이 마주하는 ‘파도’의 순간들을 하나의 장면으로 드러낸다. 여기서 파도는 피해야 할 장애물이 아니라, 각자가 통과하며 자신의 리듬과 방향을 만들어가는 삶의 조건이다. 화면 속 흐름과 움직임은 정해진 경로를 따르기보다, 스스로의 감각으로 항로를 선택해 나가는 태도를 보여준다. 겹쳐지고 흔들리는 색과 선은 불안과 확신, 망설임과 결단의 순간들이 교차하는 시간의 밀도를 담아낸다. 이는 단순한 형상이 아니라, 삶을 지나오며 형성된 내면의 흔적이다. 한편 화면 속 움직임은 어느 한 방향으로 고정되지 않는다. 그것은 끊임없이 변화하는 흐름 속에서 자신만의 균형을 찾아가는 과정이며, 외부의 기준이 아닌 내면의 감각으로 항해하는 태도를 드러낸다. 이번 전시《WAKE: 파도를 넘는 법》은 파도를 넘어가는 행위 그 자체보다, 그 과정에서 남겨지는 흔적과 감각에 주목한다. 거친 흐름 속에서도 자신의 리듬을 잃지 않고 나아가는 방식에 대한 이야기다. YAYO’s work presents the moments of “waves” that we continuously encounter within the flow of life as a single, unfolding scene. Here, waves are not obstacles to be avoided, but conditions of existence—passages through which each individual shapes their own rhythm and direction. The flow and movement within the composition do not follow a predetermined path; rather, they suggest an attitude of navigation guided by one’s own sensibility. Layered and trembling colors and lines convey the density of time where anxiety and certainty, hesitation and decision intersect. These are not merely visual forms, but traces of an inner landscape formed through lived experience. The movement within the work does not settle into a single direction. Instead, it reflects an ongoing process of finding balance within constant change, revealing a way of navigating that is guided not by external standards, but by inner perception. The exhibition WAKE: How to Ride the Wave shifts its focus from the act of overcoming waves to the traces and sensations left in their wake. Even within turbulent currents, it is a story about moving forward without losing one’s own rhythm.
