EXHIBITION
Gallery Wald is pleased to present Seo Ji-eunβs solo exhibition Still, Not the Same.
Parrots are known for mimicking human speech, yet each one reveals its own distinct voice in the process. This exhibition focuses on the individuality that emerges within repetitive daily routines and structured systems, highlighting the subtle differences that shape each personβs presence.
Although each day may appear the same, different emotions and choices quietly accumulate within it. The artist builds her compositions through the repeated layering of short lines, reflecting the passage of time and revealing unique rhythms and variations that arise through repetition.
In the works, the birdcage can be interpreted both as a confined space and as a place of self-protection. Depending on the viewerβs perspective, it can carry entirely different meanings.
This exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the sensibilities and differences each individual holds, even within familiar structures and routines.
