Artist Spotlight: Jenni Murphy
Jenni specializes in illustrating humans through character design, focusing on how they interact with one another in a detailed, cartoon-like style. Her work is entirely handmade by her, representing life itself as an adventure. One quote about her work is, "The Australian Swordsman embarks on a treasure-hunting adventure." Her craft reflects her deep love for adventure stories and her childhood of creating cartoon-like drawings with colored pencils and #2 graphite pencils on 18 x 24-inch paper.
Jenni is featured in this year's senior art showcase, Signs of Life: Inventions of Sickly and Virtuous Minds, opening May 1st at Gallery 51.
Artist Spotlight: Shyane Gladu
Shyane invites viewers into her deep personal exploration of the spiritual realm, offering a different perspective on her inner world by examining the intersection of the mystical and the psychological. Through a series of collages and drawings, she visualizes demonic figures and spiritual keys that symbolize access to the darker sides of the spirit world. Her work transforms these haunting visions into symbols of power and self-understanding. As she quotes, âDemonic symbolism lets me externalize my inner battles,â Shyane explains. âBy putting them on paper, I take ownership of them instead of hiding them.â While blending realism with spirituality and grounding the otherworldly, each piece becomes a meditation on resilience, identity, and growth.
Shyane is featured in this year's senior art showcase, Signs of Life: Inventions of Sickly and Virtuous Minds, opening May 1st at Gallery 51.

Maxâs artwork explores the complexity of being human in the 21st century, through painting, sculpture, and design. His art depicts living bodies made from synthetic, late-modern waste materials, imagining many possible futures for life on Earth and beyond. A quote about his work is âThis is you, me, and all that can be.â His art explores the horror and joy of changing shapes, and examines the interconnectedness of living beings; it views humanity as a collective motion that responds to its evolving environment
Max is featured in this year's senior art showcase, Signs of Life: Inventions of Sickly and Virtuous Minds, opening May 1st at Gallery 51.
Artist Spotlight: Stephanie Trotto
Stephanieâs work centers on women and society, examining how women's bodies are displayed and objectified in the media. While challenging clichĂŠ subject matter about women and their relationship to reclamation and discomfort, she creates commentaries on our 21st-century society through collage, printmaking, and textiles. She states, "I want to combine elements of the past and the present, finding the interconnectedness between who we were and who we are now as a society." She also enjoys working with vibrant colors, focusing on human interaction as her subject, and analyzing the complexities of human nature through deliberate societal commentaries.
