Gallery 6 is pleased to host “Steven Cuffie: Women and the Archive”, an exhibition of photographs and ephemera from the archive of Steven Cuffie, exhibited by
@newyorklifegallery , on view from February 25th through March 1st. The presentation brings together a selection of lifetime prints and newly digitized material emerging from an ongoing archival process of tens of thousands of previously unseen negatives. The works on view include photographs made in the 1970s during a small window in the forty years Cuffie was taking photographs, focusing on portraits of women in his personal life and surroundings. The exhibition will be curated by the artist’s youngest child, Marcus Cuffie.
