Initially doomed, Gyti adapts, using humans as vessels for trees. Through this graphic novel, we follow Afra, emerging from a swamp, nurturing a maple tree, she explores Gyti’s mysteries and purpose.

On the opening weekend of the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art Master Graduate Exhibition ‘Amateur Love Machine’ you are invited to meet her. Rose, Awaits, is the culmination of an artistic research project investigating grief, performativity, and the maternal bond. In the one-on-one narrative performance, Rose, the character-cum-alter-ego borne of this research, will meet her audience for the first time. In the hotel room that is her stage she will act as a kind of idol. One sent forth to embody its central tensions: spectacle, vocality, and propriety. Audiences are invited to join the recurring performance at the Britannia Hotel, between 1600 and 1900. Please follow updates on the Facebook event for more details regarding access.
