Four Voices. One Shared Field. At VOLTA Basel 2026 @voltaartfairs , Galerie Sechs brings together four artists whose practices are deeply rooted in lived experience, memory, and personal transformation. Arun Khau Ny @arun_khau_ny Our represented artist, Arun carries a layered cultural heritage between France and Cambodia. Raised between painting and poetry, her work moves through materials like minerals, sand, and plant fibers, shaping a world where memory, healing, and ancestral echoes quietly unfold. Marco Benedetti @it.will.never.happen.again Marco’s path bridges discipline and sensitivity. From martial arts in Japan to analog photography in Milan, his work is grounded in attention and presence. Each image becomes a search for emotional truth, often extending beyond photography into a tactile, mixed-media language. Renate Fluri @renate_fluri Renate’s practice begins with the body, but moves far beyond it. Her work questions identity, femininity, and the structures that shape how we see and exist. What remains is a strong, reflective voice that invites us to look deeper, and sometimes to confront. Julia Wimmerlin @juliawimmerlinart Julia’s journey led her from documentary photography into a more introspective, symbolic world. Shaped by displacement and recent global crises, her works explore memory, fragility, and imagination as a space of refuge and reconstruction. Different paths, different languages, yet all connected by a shared sensitivity to what it means to be human today. Discover them at Frische! Between Vulnerability and Force Galerie Sechs presents a curatorial reflection on feminine resilience as a state in constant transformation. @voltaartfairs Rather than a fixed identity, the feminine appears here as movement, as tension between fragility and strength, silence and expression, containment and release. It is a space where vulnerability does not weaken, but opens, and where emotion becomes a form of knowledge. The works engage with memory, the body, and inner landscapes shaped by both personal and collective experience. They trace how identity is continuously negotiated, how perception shifts under pressure, and how new forms of presence can emerge from fragmentation. Across different practices, a shared language unfolds. One that moves beyond representation toward activation, where the feminine is not only seen, but felt as energy, as process, as becoming. From 17–21 June 2026, visit us at Frische! Where Memory Turns to Light A Special Collaborative Edition Exhibition With @mattellybasel May 16 - Jun 6 Vernissage: 16 May, 18:00 - 20:00 Erlenmattstrasse 93, 4058 Basel Forests that feel both real and unreal. Colors that don’t belong — yet feel strangely familiar. Marc Brenzikofer transforms landscapes into quiet illusions, where memory slips away from what is seen and becomes something sensed. @marcbrenzikofer Through subtle shifts in color and perception, his works invite us to question what is natural, what is constructed, and what remains when memory begins to change. We are pleased to present his works as part of Where Memory Turns to Light. Where Memory Turns to Light 16 May-6 Jun A Special Collaborative Edition Exhibition with @mattellybasel Vernissage: 16 May, 18:00 - 20:00 Erlenmattstrasse 93, 4058 Basel Blurred figures, shifting light, and fleeting moments — Michel Juvet’s works exist somewhere between presence and disappearance. @majicmiju In his images, memory is never still. It moves, dissolves, and re-emerges as atmosphere, like a city seen through emotion rather than clarity. We are pleased to present his works as part of Where Memory Turns to Light. Join us for the Vernissage An evening of art, light, and Basel’s locally brewed beer shared in a space where everything feels a little softer, a little more alive. Where Memory Turns to Light 16 May- 6 Jun Erlenmattstrasse 93, 4058 Basel Vernissage: 16 May, 18:00 - 20:00 In the works of Arun Khau Ny, memory is not something we see — it is something we feel. @arun_khau_ny Built through layers of mineral pigments, sand, and organic textures, her surfaces carry a quiet intensity. They echo fragments of landscapes, traces of time, and inner emotional states that resist clear definition. Each work unfolds slowly. Not as an image, but as an atmosphere. For Where Memory Turns to Light, we will present five of her works — each holding a different resonance of memory: soft, luminous, and deeply grounded. On view from 16 May at Matt & Elly Brewery & Kitchen A moment to pause, to feel, and to enter a more intuitive space of perception. #galeriesechs #arunkhauny #contemporaryart #materialart #baselart artinbasel exhibition memoryandlight abstractart artandemotion

Where Memory Turns to Light In SEAM / UNSEAMED, Marco Benedetti treats photography like a living surface, something that can be cut, opened, and carefully rejoined. @it.will.never.happen.again Incisions become gestures. Seams become traces of transformation. The image is no longer fixed. It breathes, shifts, and carries the memory of its own making — suspended between rupture and repair. These works echo the fragile nature of memory itself: what is broken, what is held together, what quietly changes over time. Part of our special exhibition Where Memory Turns to Light On view from 16 May at Matt & Elly Brewery & Kitchen @mattellybasel Vernissage: 16 May 18:00-20:00 A dialogue between material, memory, and light — unfolding within a space of warmth, presence, and everyday life. #galeriesechs #marcobenedetti #contemporaryphotography #mixedmediaart #seamunseamed baselart artinbasel exhibition visualart artandmaterial

Where Memory Turns to Light What once felt clear begins to blur. Edges soften. Forms dissolve. This exhibition reflects on memory not as something fixed, but as something constantly shifting — fragile, fluid, alive. Landscapes turn into atmospheres. Figures fade into gestures. Surfaces hold traces of what has been altered, lost, or quietly transformed. Color becomes emotion. Not descriptive, but intuitive. Not factual, but felt. In this space, memory drifts — into fragments, into light, into something we can no longer fully grasp, yet still deeply recognize. special exhibition at Matt & Elly Brewery & Kitchen Vernissage 16 May · 18:00–20:00 #galeriesechs #contemporaryart #artconcept #memoryandlight #visualpoetry artcuration baselculture
