Beauty X Medicine exists to bring the conversations shaping dermatology to the people who care most about where this science is going.
Two seasons in, I am more convinced than ever that the clinicians and researchers shaping dermatology are doing extraordinary work, and very few people outside their immediate field get to hear how they think.
Dr. Fabi has been involved in more than 200 clinical studies, and before we pressed record, we were already deep into it. That is often the sign of a good episode once the editing is done.

Did you know that once your skin starts to tan, it is already showing signs of UV damage?
Skin Cancer Awareness Month is a timely reminder that early detection and daily protection can truly save lives.
One of the early warning signs to watch out for is actinic keratosis. These small, dry and scaly or crusty patches are caused by long-term UV exposure from the sun or indoor tanning.
Here’s the good news: when caught early, actinic keratosis can be treated before it potentially progresses to certain types of skin cancer.
In this video, Dr. Ali Shahbaz and Dr. Hilary Baldwin weigh in on the importance for people to protect their skin and to plan regular visits with their dermatologist.

“We’re learning that many of the aesthetic procedures we offer are technically regenerative, and we're just at the tip of the iceberg.”
Today’s aesthetic treatments go beyond simply correcting signs of aging, says board-certified dermatologist Dr. @sabrina.fabi . In the latest episode of Beauty x Medicine, Dr. Fabi sits down with our CEO and host, Flemming Ørnskov, M.D., MPH, to discuss emerging topics in aesthetic medicine. They cover how treatments can work at a biological level – reversing skin changes due to age.
Dr. Fabi also shares how menopause can influence skin quality and shape aesthetic needs, drawing on extensive experience as a clinical practitioner and assistant clinical professor at the University of California.

Thanks to advances in science, there is greater understanding of rosacea and the ways its symptoms can be managed to give patients back their confidence and quality of life. Yet, many patients aren’t fully benefiting from the options available to them.
Rosacea symptoms can vary from person to person, so this Rosacea Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of sharing knowledge about this chronic skin condition and its treatment.
Some symptoms of rosacea are redness, visible blood vessels and acne-like bumps on the face, with the condition most commonly seen in women over the age of 30. Common triggers that can lead to flares are extreme temperatures, spicy foods and stress.
Currently, there is no cure, but its symptoms can be managed with a tailored, long-term treatment plan.
At Galderma, we recently initiated and supported the REACH project—Rosacea Expert Advice for a Combined and Holistic Approach—aiming at deepening understanding of rosacea and its treatment.
Here, Dr. Julie Harper shares more about the REACH project, including why long-term maintenance should be a core element of any rosacea treatment plan.
