As I reflect on the invigorating whirlwind of an experience that was @ascendspace 2024, I can't stop thinking about how much I learned from my fellow members of this year's Diverse Dozen cohort. Our incredible mentor, @moribajah , and his team did a fabulous job curating this group of space-loving, environmental stewards. I wholeheartedly believe that this global community of bold, innovative doers is on track to help revolutionize the world's understanding of why space matters. My head is spinning with ideas on how we can collaborate together to adavance the cause of space environmentalism. Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of speaking at the White House on the future of the space economy - now I'm launching a new event focused on revolutionizing the space economy. This fall in partnership with ASU, I'm co-producing a multi-day event bringing together respected economists (including the Chief Economist of NASA) and skilled writers to create new concepts for worldbuilding in speculative fiction. Together this curated group will reimagine what a sustainable, non-exploitative economic model for space could look like. There are only 20 open spots available for our cohort of writers. I’m really excited for next week! Kim and I met at Black Aesthetics, and although we didn’t know each other well, she made a strong impression. I truly admire her tenacity. At Judson, I aim to collaborate with artists who are eager to explore new horizons and reach new heights. I’m so proud to have curated this work and to see it come together. Kim has been persistent in reaching out, and I love that kind of determination and passion. Artists like her inspire me. Aries season was pretty damn magical ✨️

I was working remotely at a cafe one day, and at night it turned into a bar. I happened to be there on karaoke night. I took a break from my work and decided to sing. … my performance that night helped me get my first paid gig as a vocalist. This video is from a few years later when I was representing NYC at the National Karaoke Championships, but it all traces back to that one night. New original songs will be dropping soon & I'll be debuting an updated rendition of my musical, A Siren's Prayer, on May 20th at @judsonchurchnyc !
