A new chapter for our studio.
We’re stepping into something new and we couldn’t be more excited. Grace has joined Farnoush as co-owner, and together we’re ready to get to work: two artists who care deeply about clay and the community around it.
As for changes behind the scenes - Dustin has moved on, and we wish him well with what’s next.
Grace (they/them) is queer and non-binary, of Estonian and Scottish descent, living on MST lands. After years in biology and ocean sciences they found their way back to art - and haven’t looked back. Seven years into ceramics, clay has become their medium for self-expression, creativity and wellness. Teaching is a big part of their practice and they’re looking forward to sharing that joy with more people.
Farnoush Golkar (she/her) co-founded the studio in 2022. She is a queer Iranian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist with a primary focus on ceramics for over five years. Her work is rooted in her Iranian heritage and a love for forms that evoke a sense of the past. She’s entering this new chapter with a focus on creative freedom in her practice.
Together, we’re building a ceramics community - relaxing, inspiring, a place to create, connect, and learn from each other. A safe space for QTBIPOC folks. Somewhere friendships and creative relationships grow naturally.
We have a lot coming: classes, workshops, and more, starting this summer. Stay tuned.

Happy Birthday @isaacsahota ❤️
Celebrating 3 years with my sweetheart Isaac Rose Parvez Sahota and 33 years of them on this Earth. I love you so so so much and am endlessly grateful for our worlds colliding. You teach me so much every day, you bring my life so much joy. You are my best friend and my life partner. I am so lucky to be with someone who helps me grow, and who makes me feel so comfortable being my authentic self. You are smart, silly, funny, kind and generous. You bring so much light to my life. I am so excited for our life adventures together and so so proud of everything you have accomplished so far.
Mein tainu pyaar karda han mere dohst, mere sansaar, mere jaanu ji, hamesha layi. ❤️🌹❤️

Last bunch of gas fired pieces from this round!
I learned a lot from the various experiments I did with all of these, it was a lot of fun 🤗! The translucency of the carved polar ice candle holder is very satisfying to me. Too bad that clay is insanely expensive now! Made a little shino kitty cause I had one little lump of clay left to use up. Sadly one of my favourites- the carved scales with cobalt oxide didn’t make it in to the kiln because I broke it before glazing it 😓 #thatspottery

Muggies!
A handful of mugs from the gas firing. The dragonflies are sgraffito with “blink”. The other two I didn’t have a plan for so I threw a whole bunch of things at them to see what would happen.
Ps- everything I’m posting lately is available. Just dm if interested. I’m not doing any sales for a while so just slowly stockpiling items for future markets and hopefully some stores as well. It’s nice not to have any imminent markets so I feel like I have time to play and explore.

Buggies 🪲
A little collection of wee tea cups. This is my second gas firing, after the last one a year ago. I made a collection of small cups/bowls so I could explore various glaze combos and surface decorations. The gas firing was with @pottersguildofbc . They offer an assortment of glazes and this time there were 4 new ones to choose from. I played with painting on stains under and over the glazes.
Which critter cup is your favourite?

The beautiful sculptures have emerged in their final forms and they are just so wonderful and stunning! I’m over the moon with how incredibly everyone’s pieces came out. Everyone had their own creative vision and style and it is so fun to see them all together. Some are still on display at @vancouverceramics for a bit. Check them out at 79 W 3rd ave. Thank you to the wonderful group of people who were my first sculpture students! I can’t wait to do it again!
