Ended the year with a bang 💥 with some compadres in Mexico. 🇲🇽 EPC feels like a climber’s paradise. A place that welcomes all walks of dirtbag to their humble mountain setting in exchange for what all travelers bring-opportunity. An honest living for locals. Just as important as the unique opportunity to scale tall, bolted cliffs is the direct impact the climbing community has on tourism and the economy in the small town of Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon and around the world. It’s odd to think of climbing through this lens, but as this sport continues to expand, its impacts are undeniable. When you travel to a place like EPC, it’s easy to distinguish how mountains and cliffs not only shape our world as climbers, but how it continues to shape the communities around them.
On a personal note, this trip to El Potrero Chico was a rare respite from many years riddled with injuries. Feeling very grateful for the opportunity to add new climbing scripts in the memory bank of EPC. 🧗🏻♀️
