Still smiling thinking about this Mother’s Day ❤️ A day filled with all of my favorite things, from horseback riding, good music, and dancing all night, to being surrounded by the women who make life richer, fuller, and more beautiful.
Huge thank you to D for dreaming all of this up, and to everyone who helped bring it to life so thoughtfully.
You really outdid yourself @dwyanewade !
Being raised by a strong woman and becoming a mother myself will forever be two of life’s greatest gifts 🤍 Happy Mother’s Day to the women who make magic out of love and home out of wherever their people are
Celebrating my dad the best way we know how ❤️
Holding onto the memories, the laughter, the friendships, the dancing, and the love that carries us through it all.
Oh and representing his favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers 🌽🏈❤️
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and this year, I’m sharing something I’ve never been able to say before: I’m healing. For real.
I lived with PTSD for 34 years after being sexually assaulted at 19. I did everything I was supposed to do (allllll the therapy, year after year) and recovery still felt out of reach. What I didn’t know (and what most people don’t know) is that there’s a treatment designed specifically for trauma. It took me 34 years to find it. I wouldn’t wish 34 years of suffering on anyone.
No two traumas are the same. But if yours has changed how you live, how you love, how you feel safe in your own body – you deserve real care.
I recently sat down with Lashauna Cutts, LCSW, senior clinical director and trauma therapist at @nemahealth , to talk about what healing actually looks like. Do you have questions about PTSD? Drop them in the comments – Lashauna will be picking some to answer. 🤍
And remember: recovery is possible. I’m living proof.
Follow @nemahealth for more on treating PTSD and recovering from trauma.
