A thousand thanks to all the dear people, big and small, who celebrated David’s farewell with us yesterday or were with us in spirit. David’s funeral service will take place on January 30th from 14.00 - 14.45h in the chapel of the Schosshalden Cemetery in Bern (bus stop Schosshaldenfriedhof, line 10 towards Ostermundigen from the train station), followed by a ritual in the Schosshalden Forest until around 16.00h
Please wear a green, blue, and/or red item of clothing to the ceremony to add some color to the room. If you would like to come to the forest, please bring good, warm shoes and weatherproof clothing. There will be punch from the fire in the forest, so bring your own cup and we will have a picnic together by the fire. Bring your own picnic that you can share with others. Children of all ages are welcome to join the celebration, and the ceremony will be child-friendly. 💔 Eine Umarmung für die Ohren ♥️🎧
Wir trauern um David. David, der vor drei Monaten in einem 5-stündigen Hörschatz für seinen 6-jährigen Sohn all das festgehalten hat, was ihm wichtig war und ihn als Mensch und Vater ausgemacht hat:
Seine bedingungslose Liebe für seinen Buben, seine riesige Leidenschaft für Vögel, seinen unerschütterlichen Optimismus und noch viel viel mehr.
„Das ist eine Umarmung für deine Ohren“, erklärte er seinem Sohn im Vorwort seines Hörschatzes, aus dem wir hier diesen kleinen Ausschnitt mit euch teilen dürfen.
Nun ist David im Alter von 41 Jahren gestorben. Er ist jetzt, wie er es als Metapher für seinen Sohn im Hörschatz formuliert hat, „am Sternli putze“. Wundert euch also nicht, wenn der Nachthimmel ab sofort heller leuchtet als je zuvor… 💫 ✨ ⭐️
Wir sind sehr traurig über Davids Tod und voller Mitgefühl für Davids Familie und alle, die ihn vermissen. David, du bleibst unvergessen.

Last stop Sydney - we enjoyed this vibrant city. A city trip with a kid is definitely more stressful and squaring the circle of finding tasty, celiac and kid friendly restaurants proofed to be a bit more challenging than in other places across Australia. Nevertheless, we really liked this last stop of our family trip across this incredible country. Best features: we got to spend more time with friends 🥰, discover great museums 🤩, roamed Toronga Zoo 🦘, enjoyed the cliffs and beaches 🏝️ and adored the great coffee, brunch and tasty dinners with many games of UNO flip 😉.
This trip has definitely been one of a lifetime. The memories created, the intense family time, the beautiful nature, the unforgettable sunsets, the laughter with our friends, the tears of joy, the incredible feeling of gratitude, the very tasty food and drinks and the great hospitality we have experienced on this trip will forever have a very special place in our hearts. Goodbye Australia, thank you for everything 🇦🇺🐨🦘🌏🥰🫶🤗🥹🤩😘

We’re approaching the end of our incredible journey across Australia. It’s a huge country with so much to see and discover. Our second last stop was Canberra, the capital of Australia. The city is beautiful, has many things to see and do, including a great science museum and of course the political institutions, which are so important for a country. I always love to visit the Parliament House when I visit a democracy. This visit was very special, because we got a private behind the scenes tour 🫶 What I loved most about Canberra though, was spending time with very good friends from my international negotiation family. ❤️❤️❤️ I’m so grateful for these very good friends I’ve made over the past years and what a treat to visit them in their homes and get to know their families 🥰
