A Dose of Fun: The Wonder Show
A new initiative bringing an original 50-minute puppet show into childrenâs hospitals and communities across Miami, The Wonder Show is a joyful story about bravery, imagination, and the power of play. This project expands our ongoing collaboration with our community partner, GableStage, taking theatre directly to young audiences at Nicklaus Childrenâs Hospital, Holtz Childrenâs Hospital, and beyond.
Performed by FIU Theatre alumni Elizabeth Chavez, Luis Diaz, and Maleeha Naseer, who bring 13 puppets to life, this piece was created through a collaborative devised process. Directed by Ivan R. Lopez, with stage management by current FIU Theatre student Janise Contreras, dramaturgy by Ali Tallman, production design by Elexa Suarez, music by Hola Hi, and produced by GableStageâs Artistic and Education Programming Director Laura Guerrero.
Join us for two public performances:
đ May 9 at 12 PM | FIU Wertheim Mainstage
đ May 23 at 12 PM | GableStage
