Laser engraved concrete.
Originally taken from a drawing of Granary Square from the view of the CSM library. This piece was intended to capture the three dimensional space, particularly the negative space between each building, and present it as a flattened impossible architectural form. After creating the drawing (last slide) I decided to bring it back into its three dimensional status, by laser engraving it on a concrete paving slab, solidifying the negative spaces within the drawing and drawing upon the architectural influences that originally inspired the piece.
